Some dealers in aus seem to smush their buds down hella flat so they arent as fluffy and big looking as the mad medical shit they get in the states

Alright my friend, I'm about to drop some fat weed-purchasing techniques developed over the years.
1. Get a mg scale. If you are going to be regularly buying marijuana and other drugs, a good milligram scale is worth the purchase. You can get one here: <https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0012TDNAM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1> and it will help you make sure you are getting the amount the dealer says you are. It's definitely worth the investment.

2. Look up prices and do the math. For a high-quality ounce in Australia, the street value is between 320-340$, returned from a simple Duck Duck Go search. That translates into roughly 10-12$ per gram. However, obviously dealers will want to make a profit and will increase the cost so that its 15-20$/g which makes $50/0.625oz a reasonable pricing. Buying in grams is the most costly and inefficient and can make you look new which in turn makes you even more susceptible to unnecessarily raised prices.

As for your current transaction, I would say that you most definitely have an amount >1 gram probably closer to 2 or maybe even 2.5 grams of pretty good quality bud, which can be identified in a number of ways, mainly based on the orange fuzz that is evident throughout the sample and the deep green color of the weed. You should also be able to smell something fruity, I myself liken the odor to ripe peaches... Anyway, this means that you were deprived of 1 gram worth of weed. Obviously this is just a visual estimate, and you can only know for sure through scaling it. However, if this is your first time smoking, you will definitely get baked off of what you have purchased, as such, good luck and have fun!
