OP here.

How did those who have finished their degrees manage to do it?

I dropped out of one uni because I was a lazy sack of unmotivated shit. Waited 3 years to go back, I'm pretty nervous to go back.
>>
>>731544975
Much better option. I ran a nonprofit for a while and made good money, but the degree was basically useless.

1. Honda's F-series engines in the S2000 were not i-VTEC.
2. The F20C had a single cam chain going from the crank to a pulley which was directly connected to one of the cam pulleys were there was another cam chain connecting the two together. This way more chain surface area.

I double-majored in Political Science and Asian Studies (East Asian conc.). It wasn't entirely by my own choosing; external forces, poor guidance, being lied to by EVERYONE throughout my college career, having to take a semester off, etc are reasons why I made this mistake. I regret not knowing and not being better advised.

I'm thinking about going *back* to school though, this time for CS and IT. I'm fucking broke though, and at most, the state would probably just lend me enough for 2 semesters.

You can literally grab a GM Express van engine for $200-300 and build it up for under $1000 and have 350 hp. Specific power (i.e. power per liter) any good? Nope. Power per dollar good? Fucking A, it is.

GM OHV engines are as compact as it gets for it's displacement. If anything, that's it's claim to fame. It doesn't have a high power density when you look at power-to-displacement, but it's a pretty high density when you look at power-to-engine volume. Google image search BRZ LS swap, MX-5 LS swap, 911 LS swap, RX-8 LS swap... these fuckers go in anything and everything.

Furthermore, a "BRZ killer" is a pretty low bar, man.

I suppose so, that is if we really care about souping up some FWD-based economy car. I'd rather not start any kind of hot rod on a crap platform though and any rear-drive based chassis of interest--something worth fixing up to begin with--could most likely take an LS-swap.

Maybe we're just coming from two different worlds. Stateside, car insurance and gasoline is quite affordable, gas guzzler tax only applied to new cars with poor gas mileage, no emissions on older cars, and LS/LT engines are proliferate and cheap here. Aside from being a neat science project--see how much power you can squeeze out of the smallest displacement--rotary engines like the 13b simply doesn't have a value proposition here, whether the budget is $5k or $50k.

Oh and I got into Harvard Law so it really doesn't fucking matter. I'm set. Lol it's really everything they say it is and more. I wanna find a financier for a special project, I wanna bundle cash for a city council seat back home, I wanna go into venture capital starting on the management side I've literally already gotten the numbers of 10 people who can make those things happen.

Go out to dinner, waitresses rubbing my hair leaving their numbers. Vacationing with spoiled brats and their rich dads trying to set me up with hot wannabe model daughters and I haven't even really done anything yet

Made the right decision 100%

And there we have it. I just had to Google that car; I had no idea what it was. We have nothing remotely that small over here sans the much un-loved Smart ForTwo. The Miata is already scolded as an unrealistically small car in several circles and is as small as a sports car gets over here. I suppose if we had Cappuchinos and whatnot, I could see where you're coming from.

That is simple, because it has a oversiezed engine bay, but it won´t handle as good as with the 13b due to the additional weight at the front.

This will probably fall on deaf ears but here is a shot. Do some more research and talk to people in police departments because this is a very narrow field dominated by people with bigger and badder degrees and lots more experience.

I worked for a average sized PD for 3 years. Town in SoCal wih 180,000 people and 175 sworn(this is around the national average of PD sizes) personnel in the PD. We had a whopping 2 forensic guys and they worked part time and had to have other jobs to support themselves.

Bigger departments are full of PhD's and MA's and they did 4-8 years of dirty work digging up dead hookers in San Bernardino under low-paid internships. And those people had connections.

Also, you know what degree law enforcement doesn't give two fucks about? Criminal Justice. Worst degree for anything related to law enforcement. Law Enforcement wants broad knowledge, not everyone to know the same thing.

Talking to background investigators, I learned 3 big degrees they were looking for were business administration, psychology, and sociology. PD's have budgets. PD's deal with people. PD's deal with many different types of people.

The academy is where you learn law enforcement and collecting evidence doesn't require knowledge in law enforcement or criminal justice. My advice, save yourself from having a useless degree and get something more competitive.

Source: worked in a PD for 3 years, was offered an internship with (then) Deputy Coroner and Forensic Anthropologist Dr. Alexis Grey from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Office to dig up dead hookers.
