They implemented it after the revolution, and while literacy and overall education rose sharply along with medical care, everything else, literally, everything else, fell into the toilet, to the point where all the fucking educated people threw up their hands and fucked off, while they could at least, until the leadership clamped down and started forcefully suppressing dissent.

The reality is, all of these political systems work, and none of these political systems work.

All of these systems are imperfect, because the reality is human beings were not meant to exist constrained within large groupings, which is what government is, it's an attempt to create a system of control around large groups of people. We simply aren't wired to live that way. We are wired to exist in small groups. It's in our genetic memory. Thus all of these things will never truly work as intended.

I'm not saying we should return to our hunter-gatherer roots, I'm simply explaining why eventually all governmental systems eventually collapse, a la the Roman Empire.
