open up your circuit box, if you live in an apartment it will be in a utility closet or something like that inside the appartment

if its a house, it'll be on the exterior of the house.

Open the box and look for something called the "Earth Leak detector", it should be a greyish or brown box and it'll be separate to the rest of your breakers (although that's australia...so it may differ) and flip that. Some circuit boards will call them "Safety Switch"

that will shut down power to your house the fastest way without making a mistake by not turning off something else, it'll also save your bacon if you don't have proper circuit breakers.

next step is to go through every switch you can see in the box and move those to the off position. They should be pretty obvious.

I had an upstairs faucet hose break in my house 4 months ago and it leaked into the ceiling downstairs. Had to call restoration company. They had to remove the ceiling and set up huge fans that ran for like 3 days to dry out the wood. They also had to remove the carpet and change the carpet pad underneath. You will need to do the same.

If you are in US, you can't have a mortgage unless you have insurance, so you should be OK. I had to pay the $1000 deductible though, but they took care of all the cleanup and repairs to make everything new again. I'm sure the deductible will come out of your measly allowance.

Serious advice:

I've dealt with this before.

We had damp walls/ceilings due to water soaking in from the outside in our second house.
There are like miniature ovens with fans attached that you can rent that suck like 4 Kilowatts/hour which can soak the water out of the walls and evaporate it.
You'll have to make small punctures into the walls and ceilings all over the place and repaint after it's done.
Do this to avoid them getting moldy, because that's gonna cost you A LOT more to remove.

The electricity bill will be enormous, but it's still better than having to the the fucking mold out of the walls.

Also turn the main power switch of your house off RIGHT NOW if you haven't done it already.

That stuff is absolutely perfect for drying stuff out, suggest you sprinkle it all over, wait for it to dry all the moisture up, and then just Hoover it all up after.
