You have calculus deposits all over your teeth and your gums are really swollen... so you aren't brushing your teeth. It takes at least 2 weeks of plaque not being cleaned off your teeth correctly before it solidifies.

We need an panoramic x-ray to decide what teeth are saveable and what are not.

Implants, root canal treatments, crowns and with your level of plaque control even fillings are out of the question until you can brush better.

You need to bite the bullet, get the poor prognosis teeth (sources of pain and infection) extracted, temporary denture made of pink acrylic inserted and see how you tolerate it.

A denture will restore function and aesthetics but will also cause a fungal infection if your oral hygiene remains poor.

Most good dentists will refer you for sedation to have multiple teeth extracted. The procedure is invasive however you are numb when you come around and we provide pain killers so that the discomfort level is low.

Just pick up a tooth brush and use it. With a good scale and with you brushing twice a day you can expect your mouth to appear much healthier very quickly.

Once you show you can spend 2 minutes a day caring for your mouth, better repair can be done to your remaining dentition. If you can really turn your mouth around then hopefully your gum disease isn't too far spread and you may (one day) be eligible for dental implants.

The teeth you lose may one day be replaced.

So yeah, don't be stupid.

Understandable that you're in pain brushing, this is most likely due to exposed dentine (yellow inner tooth substance) and gum inflammation.

Obviously the only solution is to book at the dentist and get the bad teeth removed.

What you can do in the meantime is two things:

1. Try a sensitive toothpaste such as sensodyne that contains 'strontium chloride'. This will block the tiny tubes in the dentine and stop the pain. Apply a dab of toothpaste to each tooth, wait, then without water brush gently each surface. This is less traumatic then dumping a load of toothpaste on a cold wet toothbrush and applying it to your teeth.

2. Standard mouthrinses are no good at killing bacteria. Buy a mouthrinse that contains 'chlorohexidine digluconate' at 0.2% concentration. I'm not 100% sure if this is prescription only in the US. This is an antiseptic that can be used for up to 4 weeks at a time. This will kill any bugs in your mouth and reduce some of the gingivitis. This mouthwash is strong and may give you an altered taste sensation temporarily.

Both of these are temporary measures until you can see a dentist.

Smashed my teeth out in a bike accident as a kid, smoked since 8 and drank an excessive amount of energy drinks (Rockstar, Monster etc. ) fucked my mouth up good and proper. Mother was negligent so I didn't see a dentist in that time.

Shit, all this time I was thinking maybe I was the only one. My teeth are basically the exact same as yours, I was never taught brushing practices as a kid by my mother (drugfucked/no fucks given about me/ cry cry etc) and later in life when I finally realised, the damage was already done. Couple that with a lot of soft drinks (Coke) and here I am today. I don't smile, I don't really even like talking to people out of embarrassment. I've had several long term relationships (3+ years) in the last decade where the girl didn't care but it doesn't change how I feel about myself. The only real option is to pay a ridiculous amount of money (tens of thousands) in my country to get them fixed. Until then I will continue hating my face.
