I encountered some 1%er MC members a while back. Dated someone that had family meshed one of the older clubs. They were great people, very humble and friendly but I wouldn't ant to cross paths in their line of work.

The idea that they all ride motorcycles isn't true. While that is how they initially form, the old clubs were just social ride clubs in lower socio-economic areas that prospered with organised crime. Racketeering, theft, extortion, drug production being their biggest profits.

The successful players tend to move onto bigger luxury vehicles rather than drawing attention to some wannabe thug screaming past commuters on a loud motorbike.

Most big weight 1%ers look no different than the average upper class person. They live in the elite areas, drive brand new European cars and send their kids to private schools.

We don't fight one-on-one unless the dispute is private, it's between members, or well that's it.

A good rule of thumb to keep in mind in life is don't try and fight one guy from a group of people where they are all dressed alike. That applies everywhere in the world and has so for a very long time. That isn't special to MCs.

My club has a rule where you are obligated to fight if somebody instigates against another member. If a member picks a fight with some random Joe Public, it's his fault if he gets his ass kicked and we'll take his cut for safe keeping in the short term if he loses. This has never happened in my experience, because instigations never totally happen between two people when one guy is one of ours, like arguing with a cop, standing in a group of cops, you probably will not have a totally one-on-one exchange, but such cases.
