I enjoy this game very much. D2 was the best game i ever played. I put in hours and ended up doing most of the stuff that was there to do, apart from joining DC hunting. D3 was a total dissapointment when it came out. Bought the original game, played it for about 2 weeks and was done with it. Then i started play PoE on my crappy pc and it was awesome. I stopped for a while and no i am at it again. But honestly i don't recommend it if you hate grinding. Just ask on global chat. It's not that hard. There are even special channels dedicated to parts of the content. Like there's one for people who want to run endgame maps, one for master missions, etc.

All servers (well most of them. i think china is left out because the local publisher turned it into a pay2win game) are connected, btw. Doesn't matter where you play from.

Also you can refund passives. You get some refund points from quests and there are also orbs of regret that give you one point per use.

at the top of the passive tree is a search function that will highlight related strings.

passive tree can be as straight forward as simply stacking extra damage, crit, defenses, or keystones can unlock some unique potential to your class such as reduce HP to 1 but resist chaos/poison damage.

you have a couple options there. first thing to do is determine your damage output e.g. elemental+phys, ele+ranged, pure phys, etc.
after that determine your defense type, more or less: armor= strength based, evasion = dex, energy shield = int
you can also use a combo of these defenses.

You get tons from quests at first and later on you can even buy them from NPCs and masters in your hideout.

also for PoE, lvl 80/70 is a good goal to set in terms of skill points.

you CAN buy frames and weapons with cash to skip the 15-24 hour build timer, but everyone still has to level their gear and frame up to 30, then forma 3-4 times which resets your items level to 0.

so yeah you can buy gear already finished building, but you still have to level each piece to bring its potential up.

not him but it's a comparable experience had most depth to it and a lot more bosses. There's sort of checkpoints dotted through the land (bonfires) which make it a lot easier. I would say the trek to some of the bosses is longer but it's generally a little easier. It has artistic intent coming out every orifice so even if you're not a huge fan of hard games you'll enjoy this one. You'll almost never see a loading screen either the world is very fluid and immersive. Second one not so much both mechanically and artistically it is very different animal.

Try downloading MAME64 and download the full Metal Slug series. That should get you started.

After these two games, you should probably be craving for a good old strategy game. There's two options: The Fast Paced game and the Slow Game.
The Fast one is Battle for Arrakis, for Genesis. The slow one is Dwarf Fortress. DF has an Adventurer mode pretty similar to Nethack.

Run through the Warcraft series, plus Starcraft 1 to Brood War.

Terraria will suit your sandboxy needs. Try the Anno series. Hearts of Iron 1-4, Stellaris and Mount and Blade will test your patience.

If you are getting cocky, download the starters edition of Eve Online, or try your APM skills on the SC2 competitive ladders.

Rust is nice if you don't care for grinding, zerg clans raping you and the fps essence.

Play House Party for fapping material. Others I always play are Rimworld, Guild Wars 2, Fallout 2 and Space Engineers
