I remember I was at some old mansion/castle type thing where some event was taking place.

In the case that this isn't some pasta I haven't seen, let me share a story with you OP.
When I was a kid (probably 6 or 7, I have no memories of this except from what my mother has told me)

She told me that she went into my sisters room, and demanded that whatever was there to leave immediately and that this was HER house.
After that, she tells me that there were never any more complains from us.
