Why aren't you trading stocks /b/? I made $600 this week from researching companies and distributing my portfolio correctly. I'm only 20 years old.

>easy money

Fuck off. You're a little faggot trading derivatives thinking you can trade because you've seen the wolf of wall street.

$7500 capital, and $600 a week? So, 300% a year. You're aware the best funds make 10-20%pa?

Assuming your margin of 4:1, you, the little fuck, trading CFDs on a smartphone, beat the best asset managers on the planet, by 60%.

>And thinking the market is easy money.
nigger, I start work at 4am, I finish at 10pm, 6 days a week, with no lunch break. Everyone in the city who isnt a retard (aka brokers) does this.

You are a fucking moron.

Lets play this game:
Whats your K% score right now?
What is a K% score?
Whats 2std devs of the S&P over the past 10 years?
What does RoA actually measure?

>fucking cfd dipshits thinking theyre PMs.

Cuz trading crypto makes me way more than 600 a day, let alone a week. Stock market is rigged.
>>
>>730500981
Because I have no money to make money with. To do anything worth while (lower class) you have to start with at least 5k

Read, read, & read. no1 rule is all technical analysis is utter bullshit. Ignore it.

Focus on fundamental data, statistics, & economic reports.

Start with a working out a macro economic bias (do you think the whole market will rise or fall, and why)

Then drill down to sectors, then stocks. Never try to pick a stock if you dont know what the market is going to do. Seems backwards now you think about it right?
>>
>>730504566
got 200$
>>
>>730504171
Yeah, those seem fine. Where you planning on brokering, IB?

Some of the smaller firms prefer candidates that steer clear of the usual finance degrees, as they like to teach you their way, instead of you being taught the lecturers way, whose ever at best 5 year out of the loop. They really only want proof that you can 'learn', not that you think you 'know'

That said, sciences are good, maths, engineering, etc. also, theres a lot of medics & law transfers these days.
>>
>>730503125
Absolutely this. Thank you. OP you aren't trading, you're gambling. Take all your money out now before you fuck it up (because you will).
>>
>>730503125
Lol. Drop all those words. My crypto for 1.5 years has done around 20. And I know none. The game you play is rigged.
>>
trading on robinhood? fucking loser
>>
>>730505279
Fuck, where do I even start..

>Trading currency alone.
No firms trade FX alone. Why? THERES NO MOVEMENT IN IT. What you make 7800 trades a day? if you werent on a paper acct, you'd have run into these things called commissions. These 'commissions' wreck HFTing for banks. You, with your 7k, you'd be fucked in an hour.

>Thinking crypocurrency is a better than stocks.
You know how I ripped into you for trading CFDs? the fictional derivatives? Your comeback is you trade bit/doge coin... Please, grow up. take your money & run. Go give it to a fund, pay the 2 & 20, and leave while you can.

And get a better fucking broker or at the very least a better platform.
>>
>>730506015
*currency really only exists for hedging. ie: you're in UK & trade US stocks, you hedge out currency fluxes.
>>
>>730505279

seems pretty rigged to me. Or do you think its rigged because you don't know how to play?

It costs my firm around £800,000 to have me sit on the trade floor. Work that out for 2 desks of 12. But yeah, your broker who's trading against you is giving you a great deal because you're mates right?

I know. Just trying to give advice, cant stand it when fucktards like OP make a quick buck & pretend to be Bruno Iksil, trying to bait others into the market unprepared. Really? best bet is to start saving. Get a couple $100, open a brokerage acct. and treat is as you would a savings account. keep adding whenever you can, as often as you can.

Invest that into funds, and funds alone. Dont get into stocks, commissions will kill you. pay the 2&20 to a fund manager who knows his shit, that cunt makes $1bln a year for a reason.

You wont be rich tomorrow, or the next day, but in a few years, you'll have more money, few more year, youll have lots of money,

compound interest is a marvelous thing.

If youre what, 20's now? say you put in a grand, and add 100 a month,

by the time you're 50, that $250k ish, someone can check my math. but you get the picture

>>
>>730507534
>>730508350
Ok, I checked my math, over 30 years:
youd have paid in $1,200pa
total contributions of $37k
total interest of $210k
end balance of $247k

$247k for saving $100 a week, assuming 10%pa (which is the avg return over the last 100 years.

Seems like a good deal to me
>>
Always invest in arms manufacturers. War is always in business. Id go with Boeing personally because of their dividends but its good to diversify. They have a 3.17% div yield compared to raytheon and lockheed which is around 2%
>>
>>730508891
So you're right, around 50 I should have close to 250k, sounds worthwhile
>>
>>730508966
Whilst those are good stock picks, and your logic is sound, without a grasp on the overall market you're still gambling. Even the greatest company, with the greatest management & portfolio is subject to economics.

If you're just interested in stock picking, I'd advise you to look into intersection hedging, ie long: BA, short (say) LMT, that way, if the defence sector (or the market) crashes, your trades are hedged. Granted you wont make as much, but you'll be safer. If you wanted to get more indepth you should hedge out the volatility too, or at the very least cash-match the positions.
>>
>>730509519
What made you want to get into this type of business ?
age?
>>
>>730509158
Good on you.

And my maths doesn't account for and dividends paid. Which, Id advise, that you spend as they come. Its a great ego booster, plus, saving is boring, so its important to encourage yourself.

Granted the first years you'll probs get a free beer or two out of it. but by the time you're late 30's early 40's, you'll get a free Rolex or two.

Enjoy it while it lasts. But in all seriousness, firms with low or no commissions, no data fees, etc usually take the other side of your trade, so you're trading directly against your broker. Which is a conflict of interest I wouldn't want. Imagine seeing your opponents hand in poker.

Even the best derivative brokers trade against clients, the more reputable ones will hedge out in the market, but most don't bother.

Tie that in with it being your broker whos lending you your margin, and its easy to see why its free

Take the money & run

What kind of funds, mutual or hedge?

are almost 100% long-only, so I'd address your portfolio balance

>hedge
Check what stocks they're holding, see if they're scaling back, which they should be.

I won't tell you what to do, but personally I foresee a lot of uncertainty, and sideways action for a while. And sideways money in a long-only portfolio is dead money.

Yeah, the IBs are a bitch to switch in. Im on the floor at a prop firm, our junior guys basic is around what you're on. Bonuses are the kicker tho.

Id suggest scouting outside of your firm rather than trying to progress internally. That way you can BS to your interviewer that you're already under offer. Theyd snap you up just to spite your firm tbh
>>
>>730513312
The theory is, that you hedge out all fluctuations in the market/sector, so if the market has a great day (assuming long BA short LMT), BA is up 3%, LMT is up 2.8%, you net 0.2%.

You're safe.

You make money on Boeing, and Boeing alone. So when it comes to earnings season, and Boeing, as per your research, is through the roof, and rockets +13%, and LMT has an OK report, and sits at +2%, you're up +11%, and most importantly, up a safe +11%
>>
>>730513312
>>730514127
Look into beta hedging if you're interested. Cash matching does work, (10k long, 10K short), but its not as accurate

All brokers charge commission. Every. Single. One.

If your CFD 'broker' isnt, its because youre trading CFD's. They arent real. Theyre Contracts. The clue is in the C of CFD. You arent accessing a market at all.

>you buy a cfd from your 'broker'
>your broker sells you a contract
>a contract for difference
>You have a deal with your 'broker'
>no one else

.....and my ignorance is showing.
