If you want a general improvement over the mod but a couple less features, then go for it. People complain about bugs or desync all the time, and those are the people that stopped playing a year or two ago. The game feels more immersive (and it is more optimized: fact) than the mod. If you prefered how in the mod you would build bases and patrol around the map in loaded up humvees, don't get it. If you want to be a scavenger living off loot that is always on the run from players, zombies, and wolves, then I highly recommend it.

No prob. I hate how people write off Standalone just because they played it +20 or so versions ago and got mad because there was a character wipe or they got to the NW airfield and died. They recently added wolves to the wild as well so people won't be able to simply book it to the airfields from Kamy or Solnichny. Now you have to actually get semi geared before going inland.
