well 270 is pretty hard to pull off, if you're not in great shape when you join.

BUT, this anon is correct that the higher your PT score, the better you're treated in the army. I figured that shit out and 3 or 4 days a week, I worked at PT on my own for a year. It brought my scores up substantially. Pushups were the hardest for me. I was happy when I got to 55, not many guys can really do that many.

I dunno the regs for the new uniforms. I got out before they were mandatory. On the ACUS, if you got US Army and your name tape sewed on, you had to get your rank sewed on also. It's a more crisp, professional look than shitty velcro (hook and loop fasteners)

If you're not a dirt bag you can make SPC quickly. You need 12 months as a specialist and 18 months in the Army before you can goto the promotion board for your SGT, if I remember correctly
