Ive researched the process to become a tranny, the medical procedures.. everything. It sounds complicated to become one, but after talking to professionals who work in the field and reading their studies.. its really damn easy in the modern time. All you have to do is prove you feel like you should be a girl. How exactly could they deny you treatment if "gender is fluid and everyone can feel seperately from another"? In that case their testimony is completely subjective (just as gender identity is).

Anyways, i think kids 16 and under should have to go through therapy first to try and help them past the phase. Ive talked to trans people who went to therapists and came out a lot happier than going along with HRT. I have a cousin who went from a guy to girl. Im knowledgable on the effects of HRT both psychologically and physically.

Well of course BUT the doctors are also at fault here, the prevailing idea is that the only cure or this disorder is transitioning, which isn't necessarily the case, doctors have, in theory a responsibility to try therapy first, in a younger individual. It's just unspeakable in medicine though, which is retarded, this seems to be the only illness where doctors, probably knowingly, encourage the delusion. Also, even if you're of age transitioning doesn't eliminate the problem, since the negative symptoms associated with the disorder continue after therapy is undertaken. Parents will naturally have what they believe is the best in mind for their children but it is a doctor's responsibility to state that hey if you're 11 year old wants to present as female and is a boy maybe try a psychiatrist before we start drugging that 11 year old with drugs. So in short I blame the doctors for the retardation visible today as much as anyone else.

I blame the doctors as well, however in a capitlist society people will make money where they can.. thats where laws are important for issues such as this. The same applies to abortion; whether or not you agree with it, one out of many effects of legalizing abortions is creating an ideology within a culture that tells a lot of people that abortion is okay and imo it has a domino effect. I believe this can apply to transgenderism. If you make it legal, whether or not the doctor agrees with it (the depression rates are irrefutable) they will make money off it. It creates the effect on our culture that its not bad for a kid to become transgender. Nobody argues the negative physical effects of pumping foreign hormones into someone (huge increase in risk for cancer with estrogen), but people choose to ignore the psychological effects.

A therapists and doctors job is to tret someone on an individual basis, and if they think for the cases they "treat" that getting a sex change will help because of what the patient tells them, then they will go forth. The doctors job is just to inform them of the side effects. NOT to convince them they dont need it; that is the therapists job. The parents job is to have common sense and not allow their 12 year old kid to make huge life choices because they think they know whats best. They are the ones that guide them through the process and give insight. This in my opinion has the biggest influence and is the reason why i think the moral argument against transgender kids falls on the parents.

Well yeah it is probably the parents, way I see it they will have an emotional response to their child's desires, but this seems to reach a crossroad here. Both parents and doctors cannot adequately calculate what is best for their patient or child. So in a situation like that when a system produces quite a negative result, and as much as this pains me to state, the responsibility falls on state agents. You pass legislation on even local level that states that, here's the agreed upon science, this is a mental disorder, which can have very serious negative effects on the individual, the only treatment is transitioning. Ok so you pass legislation that states sure transition but if you're doing it if a child is not of legal age, 18, it's child abuse. And that "solution" completely disregards the fact that transition doesn't work in all cases, as a cure that is.

If a 12 year old, or anybody else for that matter, is going to be declared transgender, I feel it should only be allowed after proper psychological and medical examinations have been performed. Also, this should not be a one-and-done examination. If the person is to be determined transgender there should be a minimum of three visits with a psychiatrist, and one with a medical doctor, to help make sure there is not some form of abuse involved.
For a minor, this evaluation should be conducted yearly.
For a minor to go on hormone therapy, psych eval/counseling should be weekly, and medical eval monthly.
For adults, psych/counseling should be monthly, and medical eval every three months.

tl;dr no shortcuts for SJW parents, and protection for impressionable children

The problem with this is that standards to be diagnosed are very ambiguous. I have spent a lot of time reading protocol and regulations for underage transgender kids. It is not easy to deny them when gender and sex is now considered to be completely subjective.

Think about it from the individuals perspective, not as a congressman writing laws. You go into the therapists office and tell them all the signs how you feel like a girl/boy. Okay, now they perform some evaluation on you (which by the way very few people "fail"). You answer all the obvious "right" answers and now you have to wait 6 months and attend a few more sessions, then visit the doctor with your authorized note. For a 12 year old, they can be convinced they feel like the other gender solely because their parents gave them the option and they have a classmate that made the sex change.

A 12 year old is very easily manipulated, even when no ones trying to manipulate them. This is the reason why during an invesitgation (criminal, civil, etc) if the child was raped, the investigator does NOT want anyone asking the child about it before he does. A parent asking a young kid "they touched you?! Where???" Can change the kids perspective/their personal reality on the event.
