I worked in that prison when it was being built. I don't recall any calls having windows.

Once they started bringing prisoners in I stayed out of the cell blocks. Prisoners were competing for top spots so guards were getting attacked. One got thrown off a second story tier and another had his arm broken.

The guy who was dominating was Edward O'Brien. He stabbed his best friend's mother 98 times when he was 15. He was called "Baby Huey" because he was a huge dopey looking bastard. Guards were taking bets as to whether O'Brien or one other prisoner was going to be top dog but they expected it to be O'Brien.

Creepy fucking place. Guards knew where all the blind spots were from the cameras and the prisoners were already figuring that out too.

I installed the phone system. We did Concord next and the guards stole over 100 phones from storage. Wrong people in the cells if you ask me. We have the same problem installing/upgrading phone systems at police stations....cops steal everything but cash.

Got the whole "we don't negotiate for hostages" speech, signed all the "we don't accept responsibility if you die" paperwork and was escorted around the blocks to where the guards hide, medical areas, etc. In and out multiple times.
