no yeah keep it safe and in good condition, though i'd consider framing that flag for decoration thats just awesome, my grandpa was just a cook aboard one of the ships but got these old photos lol typical tourist stuff, my other grandpa was a b17 bomber than ran missions over central germany though actually on his last mission his plane collided with another over the atlantic and they perished. Nobody is sure what happened exactly though some suspected that a pilot just wanted to off himself and quit and didn't care about anybody else.

this is what this is. basically it's a wishing the soldier well token from their friends and family. there's a note about a society that returns the flags to the families in the article if you were so inclined. But I'm not judging if you don't. God knows the marines paid for those things with blood.

Thats chinese, although Japanese and Chinese share Kanji characters, Japanese has more Hiragana and Katakana and not pure Kanji like the chinese writing is.
