Ask if she can pay for it, you can get the part and fix it, otherwise the computer is as good as toast.

If she wants to check the computer, just pull out some parts or change some settings and boot up windows and show her that it isn't working.

See? Easy! You get to keep the computer and she will give up on thinking she will get it for free. And eventually, you'll get to sell it to someone else for 300 bucks.
