Kershaw Cryo for EDC

Also got the leak in the black finish, its alright, point gets fucked up if you look at it so that kimd of blows. But its slim and light weight. Fits well in tighter dress pants.

You posted this shit thread yesterday with your rainbow pigsticker. What's the point? You have accepted your physical inadequacy and now you want to compare pocket knives? And you think that shit tier rainbow Kershaw is special? You little pocketknife faggots think a knife is going to help you come out on top, but your shit is so dull you can't shave with it. If you are worried about getting beat up, why not carry a gun? If you need to open packages, the tiniest non-locking folder does the job fine. It's really just like having a Mustang or Camero, everyone knows you are just compensating for a micropenis.

Cryo was my daily before my current Kershaw. Doesn't hold an edge for shit, but it's solid as a rock. I prefer the body lock to the subframe lock on my new one, but it's a worthy trade off for better steel, bigger blade, and lighter weight.

you miss my point--it's not weird to carry a knife. i carry mine most places, depending on what sort of pants i'm wearing, for the same reasons. but it's weird to feel compelled to carry it. to not go somewhere because carrying my knife would be prohibited. the compulsion is what's strange.

unless you live in like Johannesburg--AND have actual training in self defense--or live/work out in the bush, there's no reasonable mandate to carry a knife.

Had a knife in my pocket since I was a kid so at this point it's a habit to put it in my pocket if I leave my room. It's more useful than carrying a phone.

That's kinda crazy to me. Like, throughout my day, living in Seattle, I'll tend to have a use for my knife at least a few times a day.

Yeah, letters, but opening boxes, cutting tape, errant strings, cleaning fingernails, etc.

And if you haven't taken a whetstone and just chilled for an hour honing your knife - dude, it's so peaceful. The motion and the sound.

I suck dicks for fun but I have more guns and have used them more than your average European. Who is the faggot now?
>>
>>728171631
False equivalence faggot, you mean that by your logic when I went to help my gf build a trampoline for her kid brother, I should've just used my keys to sever ties and use them as levers because a knife is "superfluous" and "uncivilized?"
>shoulda just used a knife in her house
All she had were dull crappy 20 dollar kitchen knives because her wack-job parents thought they were pretty.
>then use your keys or melt the ties with a lighter
Give me a break, I'll reiterate once more that a knife can be very useful and more convenient for productive work and there's no shame in having a good one on you.
>>
>>728172321
Uncivilized? The fuck? You are projecting so hard, but you're incredibly wrong. You're talking about using tools, this thread is about carrying a pocket knife. You use your pocket knife as a lever???? YOU ARE UNCIVILIZED. USE A PRY BAR YOU FUCKING NIGGER
>>
>>728172013
Right, when in doubt, jam a key in it. Doesn't matter if it ruins what you're using it on or if it takes the entire day, just use your keys. Never mind that some people's lives require something with a honed edge just use your keys.

>>

>ruins what you're using on

You mean at work? Yeah, so get a utility knife for cutting boxes. You mean at home? Well, I probably vape more often than you use your knife(30-40 times a day) and I manage to walk to my coffee table to use it. should I carry that around my own house in my pocket too?

Do you mean in the street? I guarantee you don't have a need for a knife in the street.

I have this impression you think I'm specifically arguing against carrying one, and I was originally responding to SOMEONE SAYING IT WAS NECESSARY, AND I SAID IN CIVILIZATION IT'S NOT.

Unecessary doesn't mean uncivilized. You're like someone arguing against gun control when someone asks what you're carrying. Projecting.

>>728173025

I hear you, you think it's not. In my experience it is. I've never had to consider it a weapon in the city. My point stands that a knife is the single most versatile tool you have on you, applicable and flexible to be of use in the majority of situations.

I can't think of any single thing more mulitools than a knife, aside from an actual multitool (which always have a primary knife)
>>
>>728173744
>millenials
Lol what the fuck. Could you be more basic
>>
>>728173506
To correct myself: I argued against it being "one of the most useful tools a man can have" IN THE CONTEXT of being in civilization(modern day it's not as versatile as a set of keys, or a smartphone. I'm having an INTELLECTUAL DISAGREEMENT WITH THE GENTLEMAN, and >>728174028 he would seem to agree there's a discussion to be had. Which is all I ever wanted-- I love knives too, I just don't find them versatile in my every day life.

Duct tape is probably MY PERSONAL "most versatile item that any man should have at all times"

will fix that. Besides, A: I didn't have a toolbox nor a car (still don't have a car, that's for families and fat-fucks) B: I wasn't using it as a lever for harder, heavier objects, it was more for prying hard plastics open and keeping small parts in certain positions before assembling them. For the final time, some people's lives necessitate one on most occasions; just because yours doesn't-doesn't mean the same for other people. Also put down that vape pen, you'll get heart disease.
>>

>cars are for families and fat fucks

Good god, you are the last person to argue about need with me. I'm literally certain that you take public transit(which can't move your furniture or get your neighbor to the hospital at 110mph) or bum rides from your friends(grow the fuck up you dont live with your parents) or live with your parents.

Grow up, get your EDC situation together(you want a gerber multitool, not a knife you absolute trog), and talk to me then.

It sounds like you fine gentlemen could reach a reaolution by making a distinction between "useful" and "versatile". A knife remains an extremely useful tool for its intended purpose--much like a set of keys. They are both purpose built, yet have some overlap in their common ability to open packages. However, I wouldn't describe either as particularly versatile. A Leatherman tool is versatile because it can carry out a range of funtions, whereas a knife's primary function is to cut and a key's is to operate a lock or ignition.

Don't get me wrong, knives are my hobby, but the claims made by >>728174028 argue more for usefulNess than true versatility. To say a knife is versatile because it can stab, skin, field dress, process, etc is really just an expansion on itsprimary function: to cut. You can use a knife to pry, but I wouldn't recommend it with most models. Likewise using it as a screwdriver or can opener. I also wouldn't recommend trying these things with a set of keys.

Although, both knives and keys can be used as weapons, so maybe there's more to the whole knife/key thing.

Tl;dr: I think you mean useful, not versatile.

The keys, if they're the exact right size or a tiny bit too small, can be a serviceable screwdriver if you need to, say(yes it's happened) tighten a screw on your pistol because you haven't fully stripped it in long enough, or(it's happened a whole lot more) open the battery door on your kid's dumbass 90's video game system before they had those plastic clips that the piece of shit breaks half of from playing with it then you...

Certainly, and I appreciate your understanding. I was aiming for a bit of clarification between you and woodsanon with a bit of light trolling thrown in for the millenialanon. His mental gymnastics are impressive at least. Personally I agree with you that knives are as relevant as ever. I would go so far as to argue that, rather than being barbaric or uncivilized , a knife could be seen as perhaps the cornerstone of civilization. It's neat to consider that those few inches of steel on your hip link you in function, if not necessarily form, to literally every generation of your forebears going all the way back to the moment that Grandpa Throk first used the sharp edge of a broken rock.
>>
>>728157175
Just be careful while stabbing with that. Too much pressure on the lock and you could fold it into your fingers, especially in reverse hand. Watched a guy almost lose the tip of his pinky stabbing downward into piece of wood.

I really need to get a 10MM. Especially HP or those Buffalo Bore bullets will knock shit down. What is the capacity on the Glock 29?

THIS is what I'm talking about. A knife alone is a joke to carry as a tool.

>>728179891
That's how I feel about the spearpoint I carry, yeah. Lighters too, pretty heady. I do tend to get into it a little; my colt SAA clone makes me feel like a cowboy :^)

>>728179992
>>
>>728180069

You should. The G29 holds 10rds with flushfit mag but it also takes the 15rd G20 mags. When I carry the 29 I carry a 15rd mag as a reload.
>>
>>728180069
Even though I grandpa-carry a single action 45, if I carried an automatic it would be 10mm hands down. Most effective bullet ever made(for destroying human flesh, that is), absolute art in ballistics
>>
>>728179729
Well said. I think we can all agree that screws on 90s video game systems were a pain, and that we would all like our keys to still open doors when we finish screwing.
>>
>>728179891
Different anon here. I agree. In my family, we carry knives. You never know when you'll need one, they are cheap and it's not any more difficult than carrying your keys and wallet around. When you're 10 years old, you get a Swiss Army knife and a whet stone.
>>

That sir is the best knife ever.

Only if you buy cheap ones.
Once you become an autistic enthusiast who buys $500 midtechs and $1000 customs, the ride never stops.
>>
I'm in the UK and carry a pocket knife all the time. As long as the blade is no longer than 3inches and doesn't lock into position, it's perfectly legal.

They're always useful.
>>
>>728180159
>>728179839
I carry and use both. A pocketknife gives me quicker access to a blade and the multitool offers access to a range of other...tools.
>>
>>728159293
> $30knife is fancy
Oh honey
>>
>>728180611
You could always get a Skeletool if you want a multitool with a one-hand, lockable blade.

Absolutely, that's why I felt it necessary to specify "as a tool".

I don't even carry a multi-tool if I'm not wearing a sport coat or coat of greater magnitude, but I never leave the house without a 5" spearpoint.

I do. I also make and sell them. This is my personal knife:

Fuuuuuck that is nice.

VG10 seems cheap though

That's actually pretty good! I have a friend that says always carry revolver because they will always fire. but idk... something about having decent capacity is attractive. Anything besides having to carry fullsize G17... Terrible choice.

All posters sage or what?

>>728180594
Nah, I carry a leak knife like ops but black. It's $30-40, holds an edge well, and the steel is good quality. Dropped one in my driveway once and didn't find it for 3 days and it got rained on the entire time. No rust. Kershaw makes cheap knives as good as some of the $200 ones. I'll never buy a $500 knife. I wouldn't want to use it lol.
>>
>>728180293
Indeed! Ammunition can be hard to come by and is expensive.. but I think it would be worth it! Will be my next purchase!
>>
>>728181210
Yeah, I can respect that. My friends are all fine with their cheap $20 knives while I'm the autist that spends hundreds of dollars on supersteels and fit and finish.
To each their own. Everybody has different hobbies and interests. You can view a knife as strictly a tool, or art.
>>
>>728180963

>>
>>728181105
I carry a revolver because: one handed fire without round chambered, you dont have to react to a dud round(it might even fire the second time around if you need it to), and the weight helps fire bigger rounds with arthiritic wrists

I use a single action because i(have had) small children and have cats and dogs, and I can't afford the coffee table gun to go off in some bizarre circumstances.

I use .45 because the fireballs are terrifying out of a 4.75" barrel and the shot is loud enough to deafen someone temporarily and give you a tactical advantage during home defense

That's not a bad idea.. I never took into account the flash or the deafening blast a shorter barrel produces. And home defense is an interesting argument. All kinds of solutions depending on your location. I have neighbors close but far away enough to be safe for rifle. In home defense situation.. 75 rounds of AK hollowpoint should do the trick I would think...
>>
Pro tip: instead of carrying around weapons as if you know how to use them, you should rather practice running a mile to escape danger instead.

Probably one of the most efficient spring assisted knives in the game, but in every other way this knife is pretty casual. I do like the way it looks. I'd like to make a solid handle minus the rubberized grips and a hardened steel blade in this design someday to use with the old mechanism.

I carry a swiss classic SD because:

They're cheap, they're still useful, and since it's so small you can carry it pretty much anywhere as long as long as you aren't a nigger.

I've left it in my carry-on for many plane trips, and nobody cares; just greet them with a smile.
