Ask a gun shop manager anything
>>
Do you put all the guns in some backroom safe at closing or do the guns just sit in those glass cases all the time?
>>
>>728044413
The cases get rolled into the safe at night and we roll down steel shutters to the main floor.

>>
>>728045346
~65-70% of what you paid minus any additions to the gun

Weirdest customer?

I had a customer that giggled and laughed at every little thing

The most profit is in accessories. You have to buy deep for guns and expect them to sit a while for a small profit margin.
>>
Ask you anything? Hmm... will i be okay with 850cc injectors on a V8 STi, or should i step up to 1000cc for overhead. Built long block with forged internals, all supporting mods, externally gated, 30r sized turbo, hybrid speed density tuned. Target goal is around 375 - 400 whp.

Do you regret your choice of career knowing that even someone who obtained a weapon from your shop legally could use it to harm people? If you don't you should.

A few custom built tube guns as well as an original styer SPP.

Also had some rare stuff come through too such as new in box Colt revolvers, Nazi marked Hi-Powers, and I snatch up every C96 that walks through the door.

>>728047435
Yes. You wont see the sticker price drop but there are plenty of sales to keep the flow of ammo moving. Same goes with guns. Fewer people are buying due to less panic, therefore sales help drive the market. Since S&W is running that rebate program at the moment, expect your local gun shop to have retarded low prices to try and compete with online sales. Sold almost 100 in the past week.

>>728047770
If they aren't all there in education on guns, I help them learn to operate it safely. Never have I had to deny a sale due to lack of firearm knowledge.

Some concerning types I run the check on hoping for a denial, but if not, I "delay" them and they typically never come back.

>>728047806

If you obtain a hunting license, you can purchase and posses firearms and ammo if you are not a determinant resident. Some places are just dicks and dont even sell to green-card holders (permanent resident but non citizen).

State law may vary, but for federal law, one exemption to obtaining firearms and ammo is possession of a hunting license.

>>
Are there any advantages to buying a revolver over the more modern designs?
>>

Aside from higher caliber and a higher accuracy there isn't really much of an advantage.

Also, not everybody is able to learn to aim a revolver and the kickback of higher caliber can destroy your arm.

Can make contact if an attacker is right on top of you without pushing the action out of battery

less risk of malfunction

typically have the option of a more potent cartridge but in the end, shot placement is key no matter the cartridge.

with all that said, there is nothing wrong with a revolver for carry as long as youre comfortable in your ability to put your rounds where you need them and have a capacity your comfortable with. I carry a revolver from time to time (3" SP101 .357 magnum)

>>728050386
The grip is very comfy and about the sizer of a G19 which is very concealable as long as you have the right belt and holster (as with any gun). If you are willing to spend the money, go for it. Although I like the way it handles, I prefer all metal for my DA/SA semis, but that's just personal preference. In the end, there are many other pistols that do the same thing at the same level of quality for several hundred dollars less. Not to say it isnt a great gun for the money, but you do pay for the HK name for most models.

>>728050639
Ruger SP101 .357 3"
>barrel length is fine for the performance over a .38
>can still shoot / carry .38 if desired
>small with a decent enough weight to eat up the recoil of most .357 loads
>not too heavy or large for carry
>not too small to handle
>front sight is upgradable
>built like a tank

If you like the cost of ammo, there are 9mm revolvers too. The disadvantage is most semi-cartridge based revolvers require the use of moon clips.
>>
>>728047617
to buy: cdl (21yo or older) and another GOVT id showing residence in the state (with address and expiration date) for at least 3 months.

both must be valid (not expired or suspended)

to carry? depends on county sheriff, not familiar with sacramento.

>>
>>728046884
Would you ask that of a car salesman? Because the odds are much higher that the car salesman will sell a car that will go on to kill somebody in a car accident than the odds of selling a gun that will be used in a fatal shooting.
>>
>>728052916
not OP
What will the gun be used for? If you are going to use it for personal defense I would get tritium night sights. Fiber optic doesn't work in the dark, it only uses ambient light.

But if you are just target shooting fiber optic or something bright will probably be better.
>>
>>728052451

If you plan on customizing it at all just build your own. By the time you upgrade most of the shit people like to upgrade on an AR15 you have thrown away 30% of the rifle and purchased it a 2nd time. Would have been cheaper and easier to just buy only the parts you want the first time.

But if you aren't going to customize it a prebuilt is fine

12 gauge shotgun. buckshot if possible. But slugs as well as large birsdhot would work great too.

Put it in your mouth facing up so it removes the entier back of you head and brain stem. Absolute 100.0% chance of instant death if done correctly.

Honestly I imagine a properly executed shogun suicide might be the quickest most instantaneous way of killing yourself short of just being completely vaporized in a large explosion. And that isn't really feasible.

Just google image search shotgun suicides and see the results.

Kek sadly, I did google it already.

They do also have pdf versions of the owner's manuals online. It's just not the same as actually holding the weapon, though. I'm a gun dealer as well, there are times that I feel like shit because I profit from tragedy. Shit sucks when the inanimate objects you enjoy are used to kill kids and business booms. It sucks when someone buys the gun they kill themself with from you and you had no idea. We have been on national news multiple times for preventing crimes by not selling guns. Selling guns is just like selling anything else, except we are regulated so much we have to make sure everything is perfect.

>>728060692
I love .45. If it is a gun you never plan on carrying concealed then a full size .45 pistol is great. You need a longer barrel to really take advantage of the .45 anyways. It is a "slow" bullet relatively speaking so a longer barrel will help give it a little more velocity. Plus a larger gun is heavier and doesn't recoil as hard.

A subcompact 9mm can kick much harder than a full size 1911 .45 because the 9mm is so light.
>>
>>728059690
Not OP, but I strongly suggest seeking out a pistol range in your area that does rentals. it will give you the opportunity to try enough guns to decide what'd comfortable for you

>You need a longer barrel to really take advantage of the .45
I've seen many gel tests where sub-compact short barrel .45 can't get hollow point bullets to expand. They aren't going fast enough.

.45 is actually a lower pressure round than most pother pistol calibers. It's an older specification from 100 years ago. That doesn't mean it is bad by any means. It's just a fact.

Here is a chart of the peak pressures each type of bullet is supposed to have in the barrel when firing. Notice how even .45 +P with extra power are still far lower pressure at 23,000 PSI than the 9mm or .40 S&W are at 35,000 PSI. Normal .45 is 21,000 PSI.

It's also that pretty much all modern firearms made by a major manufacturer are good. Anything from Ruger, S&W, Sig, HK, FN, Walther, Glock, Springfield Armory etc. is going to be a totally decent gun. There are literally hundreds of good guns to choose from.

Should I build or buy a Ar15? What's a good manufacturer if I just buy one. Under 1,000

Would it be retarded to buy a surplus Tokarev TT pistol? I like old Eastern Bloc weapons.

The other Govt ID showing a place of residence can be a bill from any gov't agency, such as a water bill. There's also a 240 hour "background check" period, which just means you have to wait 10 days after you buy it. I think the laws for getting a long gun are a lot more relaxed, but that's not what you're asking.
