If i was a long-term addict i would do regular resets, like i do for example with coffee or other substances. It's very easy to get off drugs, you just taper it off. I tapered off benzos and it was but doable, and i also stopped smoking.

H is fine for very very occasional use. If you can handle many months between hits, I have been doing it for about 7 years and in that time never more than 2-3 times a year. It's an awesome high and i can see how easily you could get addicted if you lack dicipline, but if you can handle it, it's worth doing because it really is the best high you can get, imo.

Withdrawls can very from drug to drug. Surprisingly the worst withdrawls usually come from alcohol and benzo's. Heroin and opium is second. Meth withdrawls aren't even that bad according to a former meth and heroin addict i knew and google (went from heroin, got clean, then for some reason decided uppers where more enjoyable...) after 1 year of drinking a pint to a fifth of whiskey a day and i decided to guit coldturkey, that was a mistake... sweating, palness, clamy hands, tremors, cold sweats, hot flashes, increase heart rate (BAD), Delirum tremons, physical pain, and i believe i had a seizure.... that was one year of drinking... worst week of my life and here 42 days later i can't even smoke weed without having a panic attack (not sure why but it really fucking sucks as i grow my own bud that i cant even smoke, I've been smoking for years too) and mist those i mentioned are just physical symptoms, the depression i had was litterally so bad i just wanted to die (wasn't a fucking joke at all) i dug myself here, now i need to get out of it...

Don't baby them because they will take advantage, talk to them eye to eye and ask about them (how much they use, how long, are they willing to clean up, etc) really give them a minor guilt trip that makes them want to be more human then addict.
