my grandparents at least did a lot together. went for walks, traveled together, each handled their own part of the equation: grandma cooked, gardened, raised kids, cleaned house. grandpa: brought in money, kept stuff around the house in good repair, disciplined the kids, kept up the property.

Now that is an old school relationship. But honestly it worked because together they covered all the bases. Modern relationships I find people are a bit selfish. Everyone has a career, they have to have their own car, their own shit, they seem to fight over everything.
