It seems like it's much...slower than it used to be. Threads seem to be up all day long, but that may just be my perception. I'm on EDT and usually on from 8-5 during the week. But threads seemed to blast through in the past and /b would cycle through much more content.

It's not your imagination. I used to browse /b/ back in 2009, I only come here now very occasionally. Back then, if you didn't like the look of any threads, you could just refresh and there'd be all new ones already. Likewise, if you liked the look of a new thread, you could join and be guaranteed there would be at least three new posts every time you refresh. If there weren't, then the thread was already dead, that's how fast the board was.

I looked back and I think I started coming here in '09 or '10. Honestly the board had it's own host of problems throughout all of its history. Fuck, the amount of MLP threads were in-fucking-sane.

I do think the sense of /b's 'community (for lack of a better term) has definitely diminished. It no longer seems like people identify that strongly with the board. I occasionally post some old oldfag threads (for dudes over 40) and those always seem to be good, but I think we post/lurk as much through habit as anything.
