I collect retro video games, especially the Pokemon games. I've got all of the 1st and 2nd gen games, complete with box and manual, and a bunch of n64, ps1 and gameboy games, all with box and manual of course

The amount of money I've spent, I could have a nice car, a deposit on a house and maybe even a qt pi golddigger wife, but video games will never leave me. They just sit there and make my autistic self happy

OP here. I also collect old games, not as OCD about cases and stuff. My Dad bought my SNES a week after I was born. It's a fucking heirloom as far as I concerned. My great grandkids are gonna play that shit.

Ditto on the N64. Once every couple or weeks or so me and my friends black out drink and play Mario party 2. Only 1 nose and 1 wall has been broken so far.

Bro, I love your dogs. Look at those fucking faces. Give 'em a scritch for me.

As for 'autistic' hobbies... I'm in my late 20's and still play with my legos. Sue me.

One time, on a manic whim, I did seperate every block in my collection by color and build spaceships that served different functions solely out of the bricks of that color.

Black was a dreadnought, white was a cruiser, blue was a water skimmer, red was a low-altitude attack craft (think hover-apache)
yellow was a maintenance craft.

Shit, maybe I'll go break em out. One or two of them might still be intact.

Mario Party is the shit. Lots of fun to play, just like Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart 64

I used to play games like that a lot as a kid. I still remember when my dad bought me an n64 was I was 6 years old, along with LoZ: OoT and Mario Party. I rented most of the other n64 games I played as a kid, but a lot of them I didn't get a chance to play until I was old enough to get myself a job and buy copies second-hand online since the video stores we rented them from eventually moved onto the next generation of consoles i.e gamecube.

After the initial setup, freshwater is fairly cheap and easy. If you go big like 55gal+, it's pretty simple once stabilized. Saltwater gets more tricky, and then saltwater reef aquariums look the best but if you don't know what you are doing, it's easy to flush lots of $$$ down the drain.

Saltwater has a learning career curve and expensive to start up but cake after that. You gotta have a good speciality store though. Chain pet stores are shit tier. Just google fish stores and BS with them on a weekday. Also bring them beer. You will get hooked up for life

man you're thinking about it all wrong. being on a bike can never be bad. do i miss being faster? sure. but it's never bad.

also, i commute by bike and it's an old lugged frame that i converted to single speed freewheel (fuck trends; i've been riding it that way for like 20 years) and i refuse to change the gear ratio on it. that keeps me at least minimally in shape.

i think it's less about knowing your limits than being okay with yourself and how you ride. i take pride in still riding fast, but i don't beat myself up about being older (35) and not riding as fast as i used to. but i still push myself pretty intensely. that makes me feel good and keeps me from feeling dead inside.

and, i would add, in addition to mountain biking or cross country, commuting is the way to go. i get my spandex on on the weekends and whatever, but i ride everyday, to work, to the bar, to wherever. and then it's not just for fun or fitness, but it's functional. good for you, good for the environment, good for your community. bike commuting is where it's at, provided you live somewhere you can do it.

How long until anyone who has a "Hobby" other than netflix and snapchat is considered autistic?

Well, right after the accident that quite literally broke my body, my pop died (he was an incredibly avid cyclist, commuted to work too, got me into it in fact) and I fell into a downward spiral of chain smoking, heavy drinking, and general irresponsibility and apathy.

I'm an absolute physical wreck at this point, but I am still relatively young. Sorry to vent, this is really neither here nor there. I've been in a negative mindset for years and it's very hard to break the habit. This is the year I finally do it.

You're speaking my language though, man. You must be an absolute beast riding a single speed. I used to have an old cannondale I made into a single track, you'd zip but it took so much energy to get that thing up hills.

You've got me jazzed up. It's gonna be nice tomorrow. I'm gonna find my shorts, pump up my tires, and get out there.

Thanks man. I really mean it. Gonna keep my chin up and remember how much I love to ride.

Fuck yes.

My hobbies are on hold for the moment for school, but almost all my hobbies are solitary individual hobbies, so I guess that makes them "autistic"?

>Aquariums
>Knife/Jewlrey/Small shiny stuff making (still learning this one)
>Hunting and fishing, especially fly fishing (and fly tying)
>Cars/Motorcycles, through the only thing I can currently afford is my 80's beater dirtbike.

Pretty much all my hobbies are "old man hobbies" and I have very little in common with my TV-watching, social media using peers.
>>
>>727246034
Idk how old you are, but with the fishing stuff you would be suprised how many people start to (or are willing to) get back into it when they get closer to 30 years old.

>>727245924
yes man do it! pump up your tires, lube your shit and wipe your bike down tonight so tomorrow morning you can just take off!

also find a good riding partner if you can. that's a delicate thing, but a good riding partner can make a big difference. but if you're somewhere between hotshot racer and total casual, it can be tough to find the right person.

23, been doing outdoors stuff all my life but started fly fishing at 14.

Most under-30 fisherman I know like to toss some bait in the water and forget about it while they drink beer. That's all well and good, but the more serious fishing that requires actual mastery of techniques and hiking and waking up early is lost on most people I know.

I've played guitar for years and for the last 5-6 years barely even picked them up since I moved away from home. Recently I decided to inspire myself by getting myself a new guitar. And from then on I've been a bit obsessed with guitar pedals. I have gone through quite a bit within the last several months, buying then returning until I get something I like. Here's my current board with nothing in its usual set up cause my daisy chain can't handle some of the pedals so limited to using power supplies for the rest. Gotta get a better power rig eventually.

Trips of stupidity. Between by perstilaic dosing pumps, retarded LED lights (T5s will always grow better). And handcrafted german built Venturi skimmers I'm at least 30k into after 10 years. And that's working in the trade and getting everything at cost. $200 for Akydinos was me helping an lfs where I live out. My Japanese collected plesiops was $600 wholesale and I was stoked

Only because there are so many new pedal companies out there compared to back when I used to play, when boutique stuff wasn't in the market as it is now.
I've been just buying tons of pedals but stopped recently, due to issues with my second job. Which fell through within a month due to dick manager who ran his mom and pop company military style with no sympathy and compromise of working with my other job. 15 min early or your considered late no matter what, even if you get stuck behind a train on the commute and call the manager or standing outside the store waiting 20 mins and calling for someone to open it up for me, still got marked late.
Anyways, have some new jobs lined up that are interested in me just gotta decide which one to choose at this point.
Heres my current guitar collection. The Gibson les paul and Squier J Mascis Jazzmaster are my newest ones which I got within the last couple of months.

Everybody's got their thing, my nig. I collect coins. Mostly pennies.

Got every penny from 1889 to the present... except for a few elusive 1920's from the D-mint.

There's no shame in having a hobby, unless it's storing prostitutes' heads in your freezer.

...Even then, I'm sure there's a niche market.

Kentucky has a big 400 mile yard sale. So one year, we go out and hit some places. Ended up at some old house and a young guy was packing boxes out. Talked a bit and found out it was his great uncle or some shit. He didn't want it and was selling it all. Ended up with about 40 old buffalo nickels for a buck a piece. Merc dimes and quarters were off limits because of silver prices (guy knew that). Ended up digging through a box and found a little box. Had a bunch of Reich notes and reichpfennings. Most had the big swastika. I know you're not suppose to buy it but I figured once in a lifetime. Guy said he would let me have it for free if I either put it away or destroyed them. Still have them in my binders. Kind of creepy but might be worth something to somebody years from now.
