A lot of people will get lost in comparing nazism to communism. The problem is that they are not really different. They are merely two different forms of the same thing - good old fashioned totalitarianism.

This, at its heart, is the belief that what is best for the state is better than what is best for the individual.

Under both systems, the state decides how much freedom you have, what you can do, your job, all sorts of aspects of your life. In theory, it should be possible to build a superior, almost perfect society this way. In practice, it doesn't work, because very crazy / inept / unqualified etc people attain positions of power and there is no efficient process to oust them.

There is nothing wrong, in theory, with any form of government. The point of failure is in the humans that control it. That being said...

When a government system exist that consolidates power, as socialism or fascism do by taking away the voice of the people, the potential for abuse of power by flawed humans increases.

The cumbersome, and yes, even corrupt, systems of democracy at least has built into some measure for controlling, or at least limiting the potential of abuse of power that the leaders can inflict on the people.
