The stories and information posted here are artistic works of fiction and falsehood.
Only a fool would take anything posted here as fact.

is tor really that dangerous? i mean i don't need to use it but these story's of people getting kidnapped while visiting a website seem like bullshit.
>>
I feel like you'd have to be a fucking idiot in order for that to happen. That said..... bumping for interest.
>>
im asking for a friend
>>
It's crawling with FBI now so I mean it's dangerous in the fact that you're screwed if you go on it.
>>
Tor's definitely dangerous to whichever your government is...
>>
I was under the impression that if you use tor the wrong way it doesn't actually provide protection. But i don't go anywhere shady online so i never bothered to learn how to use it the right way.

I always thought humans would make good ribs. Especially americans. We've got lots of fat and connective tissue.
>>
In order to be safe on the deepweb from my understanding you need a really good VPN. I don't know if that is enough though. This is why I don't venture on there. I would only go if i could go on there and leave squeaky clean.
>>
>>727032085

It's a browser. It's not illegal to go on it or use it.

Drugs for sale on the deepweb? Where do you go for legit black market shit? Silk Road 3?
>>
>>727032259
Tor is not a fucking browser moron
Learn how to Google
>>
>>727032238
From what I've read about it, tor is like a vpn, except the information is bounced around so people don't know who sent it. Good for remaining anonymous if you use it for regular browsing. The only dangerous thing about tor would be for people doing some really illegal shit, not for people trying to keep their isp from selling their tranny porn browsing habits to someone.
>>
>>727031989
its good for drugs, trojans or RATs and pizza.
and most hitmen are scams
>>
>>727032238
Also, it helps if you're "borrowing" your neighbor's wifi, and using a key scrambler

it "has" a browser, and it works through only that particular browser, so we can see how someone could say "tor is a browser"... it sort of is.

some websites simply won't let you on with just tor, you must have I2p running also.

You need to stop listening to creepypasta on YouTube. There's never been any evidence of people turning on your webcam and typing to you in pop ups or shit, I doubt there's even those rumoured sites where you pay in Bitcoin for people to be tortured and killed in whatever manner you wish.

The dark web is just CP, drugs, guns, and 'hitmen' with a side of 'hackers'.
>>
>>727031989
just dont enter one of the red rooms or go to some of the more shady sites and you'll be okay

(real tor user) I been using tor since 4 years. If you don't do shady it fine. the company "PRISM" It only collects a data. They really cant do nothing with it. just make sure your shit is up to date. and also dont use Win XP.
due so lack of updates. also virus scans.

>>
>>727034281
Well, you can start off by reading up about it on their site. They explain very clearly what it can and can't do. For the most part though,I recommend staying away from shit that will ruin your life if you get caught. Stick to everything else, and you will be fine. Just don't think that it will save you from having your life ruined if you fuck up.

because a watch dog group requested a freedom of information req to the fbi and found out they ran over half the sites and one of them was playpen which was a huge bust in 2015
>>
>>727035663
Is there any legit reason a site would require java?
>>
>>727036966
Except they never actually busted anyone, iirc.

They let them all go because they didn't want to reveal how they exploited tor.

So TOR isn't safe anymore, for some reason, but we have no idea how and the FBI doesn't want to say. Personally, I wouldn't use TOR for anything illegal anymore.
>>
>>727036761
Most folks are caught because they save porn open and unencrypted on their PC and take it is for repair.

OR Because they upload illegal porn to a site.

Prosecution for simply viewing porn is rare.
>>
>>727037165
So just use clearnet instead and have absolutely zero protection? Hmmm
>>
>>727037271
I mean, if you wanna be an asshole about it, go ahead.

All I said was the government has clearly been targeting TOR in the past, and actually exploited it before. Clearly the exploit wasn't patched out, because otherwise they would've just went ahead with the case.

TOR isn't safe anymore.

2. IT'S FOR DRITY FTA ASSES WHO CAN'T MAKE REAL LIFE DRUG CONNECTS SO THEY NEED TO PAY 500% MARK UP ON DRUGS FORM ANOTHER LOSER ONLNE

4. CHILD PORN SITES THAT WORK ARE 95% RUN BY FBI, RCMP, INTERPOL ETC.

I don't see how controlling the exit node helps you that much, all you can do is track the packet back by one server hop. The whole idea is that the packet routing info is wrapped in layers of encyption like an onion, and each server hop only takes off one layer, without being able to read the other layers.

They can theoretically match time stamps and pc info across the network with enough nodes. ie: When a request was made vs packet sent vs timestamp. However it's never been viable outside of a lab. But, connecting to government node farms can never been a good thing.

Tor is almost safe if you're using it linux, on two paid VPNs, using I2P, using only your neighbor's "borrowed" wifi internet.

You can safely browse the Chans like that, as long as you have Noscript running, and you don't download anything or open anything, and you destroy your computer with fire immediately afterward and move away.

>is tor really that dangerous?
A pretty good rule of thumb I tend to use, when it comes to internet-related things, is that if you can't figure it out the risks on your own, you probably shouldn't be using it.

There's no intrinsic risk of using tor in and on itself if you are not a clueless moron, but no clueless moron knows he's a clueless moron, or he wouldn't be a clueless moron in the first place, so you can take this piece of advice however you prefer and use tor at your own risk.
