I've worked on it slowly over a couple of years.

I mostly wanted to do it to learn how to handle large amounts of data on cheap hardware. I'm currently sitting at 4.1 million videos so any change takes a while to make sure I'm doing it right.

It's built on Ruby on Rails, Elasticsearch, and Postgresql mostly.

The front end is PureCSS and a little bit of Waypoints.js for the infinite scrolling.

Very basic toolset but I think I've done OK with them.

Just how sad do you have to be to do this?
