Who else /peterpan/ here?

are you studying?
Just turned 22 as well

Lost my license at 21. 29 now. No license. Shit sucks bro. Get on it. Wish I hadn't been so complacent

Yeah im in community college for business doing very subpar but hopefully I'll end up being able to transfer to state soon.
>>

I just failed my second driving test...so at least I'm working on that. The concept of getting a job sort of eludes me though. I've sent in online applications and have talked to a few people in some stores and stuff but nothing ever comes of it. It seems everyone wants someone with experience already. I look pretty young for my age too so maybe that could be part of it.
>>
>>726769529
how many years is a degree from state in america? do cummunity credits transfer?
>>
>>726769577
Dude its easier to get back on your feet when the economy is down as strange as that sounds, when the economy's high, eg cost of living, house prices are high and you fuck up its harder to recover
>>
>>726769963
The quickest degree to get is an associates which you can get in 2 years at a community college. Bachelors is 4 years, Masters is 6. PhD varies. Community college credits can be transfered to state within certain programs, at least in my (SHIT) state, California.
>>
>>726770228
so 2 years of community + another 2 years for bachelor + another 2 years for a masters?
>>
>>726769248
The same :')
>>
>>726770228
Bachelors is 5
Masters is 1
Associates is worthless shit

Yup. At least in my state/experience.
>>
I worked in at pharmacy but i lost the job half a year ago. Now I'm unemployed without any income and no drivers license because i failed the final test and went out of money. Live with my parents and constatly looking for a new job
>>
>>726770661
Associates is for people who just want to be able to click the box on the online application that asks if they have a degree so they don't automatically get their resume put into the trash. They don't care if its a degree in women's studies or native american dance. Its such a scam.
>>
>>726770909
>failed the final test and went out of money

was it an English exam?

i never learned how to ride a bike. i've had two jobs and i'll be 21 this year

I'm a director of marketing for a huge company in Chicago. I just worked my way through jobs taking pay increases as I went along.

I have about one year of college under my belt. Zero degrees.

Went to community college, had sort of a breakdown and sat out NEET style for a while, then went back and I should be done with it by the end of the year if things go well.

I'm meme-autistic. I really have no friends and have general disdain for humans. Never owned a fedora though and I've never enjoyed RTS games.

I'm 27 yo, don't have a driver's license as well, so what? I don't live in USA, where it's literally impossible to live without a car, thanks to retarded urban development.
I've been employed for about 3 months in a one dollar shop as a stoker and receiving associate. Never've been employed since. Job is for losers (especially that sort of job)
Occasionally sell magic mushrooms spore prints on the Internet tho, but I wouldn't consider it as a job lol.

First of all dude.

I fucking got where I am by spending hours every fucking night watching algorithm changes, testing links, A/B testing and learning everything I could about digital marketing.

If you WANT to make $30k the rest of your life in some shit cubicle position, then do it. No one is forcing to you stay with that.

>>726772351
>>726772351

I have about 40 people under me. Our marketing is basically designers, associate marketers, programmers, sales guys & managers.

In my industry, any other part of the company is bigger than the marketing division. But we're the ones who get the company $70 million a year.
>>
>>726769248

Not the guy you replied to, but obviously not everyone can be that successful even if they're all equally talented as you and spend as much time as you did, because there aren't that many openings etc. Chance has a lot to play in "success". But good for you, if you're happy doing what you're doing. Perfectly possible to be happy on 30k too. America has this societal problem where if you're not making 100k plus, own a house etc etc somehow you're not allowed to be happy. It's weird.
>>
>>726773418
>>726773418

The threshold for happiness is around $75k.

Meaning your happiness with your salary peaks at around $75k then anything after that is just diminishing returns.

http://content.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,2019628,00.html
>>
>>726772844
Yeah, the guy that puts in a ridiculous amount of work and effort into any career will usually come out on top. It still doesn't make marketing a good career for the AVERAGE person. The average person isn't hard working and the average person interested in marketing thinks its operating company Twitter accounts.
>>
>>726773621
>>726773621

If you ever want a good laugh, find any "social media" marketing positions on Indeed and then look at how many people apply for a $30-40k job.

The last one I saw was around 260 applicants.

Shits unreal. People think they know how to market on social media when they don't even know the first thing about marketing.
>>
>>726773831

What is the first thing about marketing? Reveal the secret.
>>
>>726773605
You mean the average of questioned people peak at $75k. But that perception of their own happiness is still based in what they're brought up believing. So that figure isn't necessarily the figure need for optimal happiness. Owning a house for example, not necessarily the best idea, but that does increase your need for a higher income. Renting, your landlord is responsible for repairs etc. Also moving for new jobs when you lose a job is a massive hassle if you own your home.
>>
Drivers license for what ?
I would lost the license Instant.
Because im everytime drunken as fuck.
>>
>>726774045
>>726774045

All marketing, any marketing at all. Is funnel shaped.

TOFU - Top of the funnel.
MOFU - Middle of the funnel.
BOFU - Bottom of the funnel.

The top of the funnel is the "awareness" stage, this is where you get people interested in your brand. Usually these people do not know your brand well or at all.

The middle of the funnel is the "evaluation" stage, this is where people are evaluating your brand. Looking at other brands, shopping around, seeing your reviews, etc.

The bottom of the funnel is the "conversion" stage, this is where people convert or will immediately convert to paying customers.

Each part of the funnel has its own strategies and content to align with the people in different parts of the funnel.
>>
>>726774057
>>726774057

True.

I guess what I'm saying is there's been a ton of different studies done, they all come out to be around $70k is where you're the most happy. Sure, it's not the same for everyone but it gives you a good idea.

Well here in freedom land, we're very capitalistic and focused on the "American Dream".

The UK and Canada are, as far as I know, the only countries will a full national health service. It works though. Minimum wage in the UK is considered to be a living wage, I forget what it is currently. College shouldn't be free (University), and nor should food. But the healthcare thing, I'm with that. People working will pay a set fee for a prescription, regardless of what the medication is. About £9

Guess the UK is still the best NHS we like to complain about then. Admittedly it's been struggling recently compared to it's best after being set up after WW2. But it's still a great service. People complain because they're used to medical services, merely having it is a great help to so many though. And not having to pay for an ambulance is conducive to actually seeking medical help when you probably need it.
