The only example we really have is the Zelda game, which was ported. It's possible they were lying about the specs, or possible that we just haven't seen what it's capable of yet.

It is overpriced shit with an unnecessary gimmick, though. Just like all of Nintendo's recent consoles.

Though the idea of being able to upgrade your performance by switching out docks could be an interesting way to have a way to "upgrade" the console as time goes on, like a PC for toddlers. That is, it's interesting, but ultimately just another way to fleece the gamers.

The best thing about this system is that it is bringing back handheld consoles in a way because it is partially portable. If it is really successful Sony/Microsoft will have to respond and I am really hoping Sony decides to release a second PS Vita. I don't even play videogames more than a few times a year but I bought the Vita when it first came out only for it to be a missive disappointment because of the complete lack of games that don't suck weeb balls. At least Killzone mercenary was alright but I was hoping for an exclusive GTA Vita or something. It's just such a great handheld.

System has flaws for sure. Nintendo being Nintendo and making insane decisions.

But if you love handheld gaming, this is the best oortsble ever made. Easily. A true Vita killer. It's playing games 10x the scope of even the vitas best titles (and easily beats tablets and smartphones). The battery is still better then Vita (3 hours for the most intense games, and 5-6 hours for portable games).

It's easily lighter then anything out there. Smaller then an iPad mini even. Also taking off the joycons makes carrying it around really easy (like in a bag or backpack. I use a purse).

I'm not a fan of the digital triggers, or the d-pad being split apart. I think their focus on motion controls was insane. But so far I only play my switch in portable mode (with the joycons attached to the side. So basically a portable).

Also people need to realize that every console has hardware failure. My switch has no issues with connectivity problems, dead pixels, or anything. Switch is actually much higher quality then people are giving credit for, due to negative videos and complaints (which I think people should call them out on it. But I think some have this perception that every system is cheaply made and falls apart. Really not true).

Nintendo basically should have made this their next handheld that can also connect to your tv w/ increased resolution. Then they should have put out a home console 2 years later, that isn't portable. Has powerful specs. But it also plays the same games as switch (so their Devs only make titles for a single platform).

So yeah, this isn't for everyone. And a lot of the complaints listed are valid. But I love this as my replacement for all my portable gaming.

I'll admit, i have a 4K gaming PC. But to me, art style matters more then graphics. However in 2017, low resolution and bad IQ isn't acceptable. Would be like watching a movie in VHS quality.

I've been playing BOTW in portable, and decided to see what it looked like docked on my 4K tv. And the IQ is so bad. Jaggies everywhere. Some of the worst I've seen.

On the one hand, it actually made me impressed with how good the switch is as a portable gaming device. Like BOTW is gorgeous in handheld mode. You don't see anywhere near the same jaggies, and it also rarely has fps dips.

Docked had a ton of fps dips and the IQ was horrendous. So I don't think it's 100% about graphics, but just basic graphic fidelity.

Already returned two of them, one spazzed out like crazy and the screen was glitching, the second one refused to read any games and then I only got a white screen.. And both got scratches on the screen from the dock even though I was careful as hell..
Fuck that. Last Nintendo product I buy.
