Bmw maintenance is covered as long as your warranty. This includes oil, breaks, struts, everything really. That said, I'm trying to get rid of my 335i. In the past year I've had 4 different things go wrong. My brother in law didn't renew his warranty, strut mount went bad and he paid 1400 at the stealership like a dumbass instead of doing it himself. His water pump was over $2000 also.

In germany, you can get those spair parts quite cheap. I am driving a mercedes, its really cheap. If i need something big, i go to the second hand spare part dealer.
But in the states i guess its cheaper to buy american cars.

"Maintenance" is taking care of a car. And the dealership should service these cars if you want it done right, and the dealership can be a nightmare. And it's expensive.

And it's a maintenance nightmare.

If he has the money to fix, maintain and insure the car then there's nothing wrong with him owning it. The problem with beamers and german cars in general is that they cost a shitton to maintain, so you get these faggots with a 16/hr job that go "Hey yeah! Look, I can buy this one for x a month or 7k! Check it out I have a beamer!" And four months down the road they don't know why they're broke

When I say "locally" I mean, listing it in the local news. Americans are often idiots when it comes to classic cars. So, if you list it only in your own town, you'll not be listing it to collectors that know the true value of the car.

So, you end up with people coming over, asking to test drive the car, offering you ridiculously low prices.

Its why some stores are open by appointment only, and even allowing someone to shop for some things require some level of vetting.

All shoppers are not equal.

I see. Here in Sweden American classics have a rather large fanbase and most buyers know the value.
Sold a '78 Dart in the local papers and got my asking price without problem.
Like every year when the town of Västerås holds the worlds largest American car meet (20 000 + cars Power Big Meet) and people sell cars everywhere during those days. Can be 200 classics for sale and it works fine.
Never gotten any trolls.

Not him, but, I drove "many" Porsches working at a dealer. If you look around, you can find quite a few with low miles for under $40k that aren't too old.
>>
>>725284292
I would, but I don't know how to shrink my penis.

That's pretty cheap if all the numbers match. Restored is less valuable than one that was pickled for 48 years. Depending on condition, that car can get $100K to $150K

It's costs about 10 dollars to enter, but it's worth it.
Ever seen ten '69 Chargers doing a burnout at once? I have. ¨
Power Big Meet is amazing.
We are talking live music (rockabilly, classic rock"n"roll etc) awesome food, thousands of cars, dragracing, town cruising.
>>
While we're talking about cars... what's the most RELIABLE cars you guys have owned? The car/vehicle you recall owning but can't say " damn... I've put so much $ in maintenance in that car." For me it'd be my 3500$ 55k km 1991 Mazda Protégé. I heard they're not as good as they used to make em though. The red paint sucked in those years though... sunburnt pinkish red when I bought it. First car, didn't matter to me much. 205 km/h top speed achieved.

>>725284673
Well my opinion after having an 2015 A4: i wouldn buy it. Audi is basically just anexpensive VW. You can buy a Scirocco or Golf R and get more value out of it. Service cost, spare parts: everything is the same withon the VW Group.
If you however would buy it, manual shift is better choice, cause i heard Audi hat problems with automatic gearbox.

I'm 34, but as >>725285221 said, you can find some 996TTs for around 30k these days. Anything less than that is either really high mileage or you might be buying a car with some issues someone doesn't want to deal with.

I paid a bit more 4 years ago when I bought mine, it also only had 26k miles on it.

40k isn't cheap, that's for sure. I make 50k/yr and live comfortably single and I wouldn't feel comfortable buying a 40k car with 0 down. I could probably swing the payment but I prefer not living paycheck to paycheck.

Yea, depending on your job it could be rough spending that much. If you have decent credit you could get a partial loan for half or something so long as you can definitely swing the payments without eating ramen every night.

If you don't want to go the loan route, just wait and save. Fortunately I have a decent job and don't have to support any family so I'm free to do whatever. I'm not super rich though, otherwise I would have one that wasn't 10+ years old, and probably have a second sports car as well, or at least some fast sedan for some practicality.

Also keep in mind, maintenance/parts costs, and even gas. I get about 23mpg on the highway (taking it easy) and closer to 11-13 around the city running premium.

I don't know if you said how old you are but when I was ~20 I was driving a Civic SI w/ a turbo.

1997 318i that i bought for $400 with a blown head gasket. PO had swapped in a M52 6 cylinder and a manual in place of the factory 4 cylinder and automatic. He basically turned the car into a M3 with a 318 body to mess with people. I rebuilt the engine with a M54B30 rotating assembly to bring it up to a 3 liter, and installed Schrick 264/256 cams along with head studs and a MLS head gasket. It hasn't been on a dyno since the cams and stroker build but it made 230 whp before hand. it doesn't weight much so its enough to irritate the local ricers

So you just buy the latest coolest shit? Not what you actually want? Sounds to me like you invest too much into what other people think.
>>
>>725291046
Because its shared one, kind of like that. Some people keep their tools and tyres there, but not me

2012 Audi A7 Prestige. Paid 85k

Time if required, but I'm tired.
>>
>>725291536
Oh. Yea, if it was shared I wouldn't keep my tools there either, they tend to grow legs.

>>725291611
Yea, fuck that. It still would suck but better than keeping them down there for the neighbors.

2015*Audi S4. Absolutely the best daily driver I've ever had. Car is Jack of all trades, good handling comfort and performance. Dsg is good on it as well, fast shifts. 6spd are rare to find tho.
>>
>>725291303
i like it, it have only 180000 km on board so i wont swap it, and that car is light (1030kg) so it dont feel so bad, also it cost me only 700 e

How does the s compare with regular models. I have a a7. Thinking about upgrading to the rs7.

What do you do for a living boss?
>>

Def true.

Was chillin in my grandpa's garage a few weeks ago with my aunt and her russian friend. Her friend asks me to charge her iphone but I only have a 12V car charger. Turn grandpa's car on only the electrical power to charge her phone. Or course the battery dies about 10 min later. Luckily he has a spare battery in his trunk. I pop the trunk and get to work on the super easy job and as I grab the old battery out of the trunk I hear my aunt's friend tell my aunt how handsome and attractive I am in russian. Swap out the old battery and clean up. She added me on fb later that night.

My parents paid for half of it = I paid for the other half with my allowance money.
>>
>>725291841
Are you a vampire? I see no reflection. From that perspective you're about...3 feet tall?
>>
>>725291929
You'll get better handling and performance. Not sure what the power hump is rs7 but I'm sure that thing would be scary fast. Nice thing about audis they don't make there car flashy between performance s or rs models compared to the base A. But definitely upgrade!
>>
>>725291957
If that's true, hit that shit (unless she's not at all attractive).

Why don't you put some shelves up and get all that shit off of your garage floor. You remind of somebody that pays $85,000 dollars for a car, but doesn't know how to do anything or have any simple life skills.
