Look mate you have a decent and reliable car , it looks ok , but it is nothing to get passionate about , I am not going to hang shit on you for buying a comfortable , affordable and reliable asian sedan , but lets not joke that it is not really anything to be proud of.

Just kidding, i want to buy something new and i want opinions, what do you think it look better than this car in the same budget?

Personally I would go for a Toyota Camry , if we are going for a no frills functional and reliable sedan.

Toyota engines are brilliant , also Nippon Denso airconditioning in Toyota and the large boot/trunk capacity of a Camry.

I drive a 2005 Ford Falcon BA MkII XT , so nothing special either , but it is a strong and reliable 4.0L straight 6 cylinder than drives me over 500kms per week to and from work.

honda civic

Currently owning a Civic 2016 , havent any issues with it , Honda is the most reliable and look pretty decent in my opinion.
>>
>>725174146
look, they aren't that expensive to maintain if you aren't an idiot and can learn how to fix your own car and source parts from somewhere other than a dealership.

but feel free to keep pushing the meme

although if you're saying the e46 m3 or e39 m5 have poor performance, i know for a fact you have never driven one

>>
>>725174394
if i remember correctly, the mazda6 is around that sort of 5 to 10k bracket, and all the cars i linked are around that

although actually the m3 and m5 will be closer to 15k for a good example, but the 540i and 330ci will be in your range for sure

never get a BMW if it's used , it looks nice and all, but if you're hardly able to afford a 4k car expect to pay way more in repair my friend.

eeeeeugh, doesn't that fuck the rigidity really bad and add weight?
>>
>>725174341
I mean if you're ok with your car breaking all the time go ahead get a bmw
>>
>>725174755
depends on how well the previous owner maintained it and if you're willing to learn how to fix it yourself

if it was well kept with service records it'll treat you nice
if the previous owner changed oil at intervals longer than 7k and doesnt know what a VANOS system is, you're in for hurt
>>

im buying a civic tomorrow

why is civic for fag

because it is a smaller sedan that is not exciting.
often referred to as a girls car.

if you want something fun to drive and good looking on the cheap, get a late model e36
like a 98 328is

they didn't have any serious issues aside from the cooling system. just budget $500 and plan to replace the hoses and water pump and stuff the weekend after you buy it. it's a whole saturday worth of work at most and really easy
>>
>>725174884
the thing is , the less expensive it is the more issues there is , depending of the previous owner , ofcourse , i'm agreeing with you on that , but overall , it costs way more than on a "regular" car , yet the only point of having a car is to move , i sure want a BMW , but i'm going to get one when i can actually afford one , and be ready in case there is repair or issues.

you can get a well kept later model 330ci for 6 grand or so.
if you get parts OEM instead of at a dealer, they're far cheaper.

>>725175097
i personally don't think it's for fag , it's pretty nice looking , reliable but alot of people think so , also , because of the stereotypical civic's driver wearing a cap and neckbeard fag , yet , people stays in 99' back when it was the case , Honda went up in class since 99' but people tend to think so still anyways.
>>
>>725175582
depends where you're from , here it's filled of fag that inherited of their parents bmw so it's pretty much all messed up , and if it's decent it's still too expensive , sure if you have the places to buy pieces at lower price its profitable , but got to know how it works in the first place to know if you're having a good deal or not.

adidas tracksuit? what?
Again if you want reliability and want to know nothing about cars or having fun, get a prius. They run forever and need nothing but are worthless in terms of driving engagement.

however if you've never driven anything fun, i can understand why you might think all cars are boring
>>
>>725171525
so mom gave you a Mazda as your first car

>>725177096
I understand you can't have reliability and fun at the same time but there is middle ground :)

i like the car overall to be all honnest i never thought i would like any Ford's car in my whole living.
>>
>>725177441
your definition of reliable is probably too restrictive to have any fun, since the kind of people who see a bmw and whine about repair costs are the kind of people that look at someone replacing their brake pads and think "wow that looks tough why not get a more reliable car"
>>
>>725177498

please don't buy a 3k 530i, it probably was not maintained well

>>725177623
tell me more about how bmw is good because you own it (but spent more on repairs than the car itself probably)

>>
>>725178235
well, got my 540i for 7k, spent 4 grand over the first two years doing EVERYTHING to it for preventive maintenance, and i've spent $500 on it the past year since there's very little to do. i could have spread things out and spent more like 1500 a year, which is still rather higher than most

So it cost you 11k to own that BMW, I bet you can get a better car for that money
>>
>>725178521
BMW with 150k miles and 18yo owner, seems like a good deal
>>
>>725179326
true, but it was extremely worth it, also that's over three years, which isn't that out of the norm for running costs of a car

i could have had an 11k prius and spend 500 on it a year or less, but it would have been crushingly boring
>>
>>725174280
Haven't had any issues with a year old car, wow so reliable
>>
>>725179720
If it was a BMW the weels would have fallen off by now
>>
>>725179495
There is other cars than a prius, but yeah of course if you are willing to spend that money on a fun car then why not. Also maybe you can sell the indicatoor lights since BMW don't need those
>>
>>725179857
well, you don't want a modern bmw anyway. they're decent reliable now but bmw totally gave up on performance and driver engagement, they're basically just less comfortable mercedes now
>>
>>725180078
in his price range? eh
right now the newest lexuses and cadillacs are recapturing that old bmw spirit, weirdly

>>725179439
you can get a 1 million bmw if you want. it all depend of the engine health (the engine itself, piston and all that stuff) others engine part can be bought for a piece of bread. That a better deal than a 150K with an unrespected engine that burn oil more that mcdonald's and completely rusted enought to be called "unfixable" by the insurence
>>
>>725181261
actually bmw engines themselves tend to last a really long time, longer than most
there's always some fundamental flow though that needs to be fixed before it fails, usually related to the cooling system, but it's one or two things instead of the whole engine being shit
