Has anyone here ever gotten kidney stones? If so, what have you taken that helped deal with the pain and/or break down the stones?
>>
>>724260554
fuck those hurt!
>>
>>724260554
A bullet to the brain usually helps.
>>
>>724260624
I know. I currently have them right now. What I never expected was to get them from eating too many peanuts.

>>724260689
I was considering that at first considering how bad the pain is.
>>
>>724260810
peanuts? fuck i'd best slow down then
>>
>>724260885
Yeah. Apparently eating too many nuts (ex. peanuts and pistachios) can cause kidney stones.
>>
Do you niggers ever drink water?
>>
>>724261024
>pistachios
FUCK!. my doc said lay off the iced tea.
>>
>>724261101
whats this water you speak of?
>>
>>724261101
I do drink a lot of water. Right now, though, my stomach's refusing to hold in anything. Even water. I drank a lot of water yesterday, and I ended up vomiting it all out again.
>>
>>724260554
I had one of these really recently actually. I'm no expert but what I did was drink lots of apple juice, any time the pain got bad I layed on the side that hurt, with a heating pad beneath. Lots of water. I know it hurts but the more you urinate the more you move the stone. really that's all I've got. Hope it's over soon OP
>>
>>724261101
Water. Like out the toilet?
>>
>>724261462
I guess I'll keep trying with the water, but will include the heating pad. Maybe it might lessen the pain enough to get me to stop vomiting.
>>
Hereditary here. Had first one at 17. Got prescribed Hydros, which kickstarted my substance abuse kek
And depending on how big they are, yes they are absolute hell
>>
>>724262432
Also when I had mine, 80% of the pain was in my left testictle. It was like someone was squeezing it in a vice, constantly
>>
>>724262432
I got prescribed percocet, but it barely helps and it makes me feel drunk as fuck.
>>
Vicodin. Had one a few years ago. Puked from the pain, blacked out. Took some Vicodin and it really helped. Any opiate or Norco like painkiller.

Look I've been shot and had kidney stones, and I would rather be shot twice than have another kidney stone.
>>
>>724260554
baking soda and lemon juice

Think I'm mid stone build. I'm in this with you OP.
>>
>>724262850

Pain's even worse than giving birth.
>>
>>724260554
I had one and I didn't want the pain in my peener weener so I just pooed it out my butt instead
>>
I had an attack at about 3AM one time. Was rolling in front yard waiting for wifey to get dressed. Streets were deserted, but wifey would not run lights for fear of a ticket. She left me in the car to go inside to fill out paperwork. I cant take anymore of this shit. Said fuck it and went in through the ambulance entrance and collapsed on the first bed I found. Wifey spent 30 more minutes dicking around before she figured out I was already getting treated, completely useless.
>>
>>724262850
>>724263391
What caused you guys to get the stones?
>>
>>724263685
I don't like wishing this on anyone, but considering what a cunt she was, she should get kidney stones so she knows exactly how it feels like.
>>
>>724263751
I Don't actually know I got one. Lets wait patiently and see what comes out of the end of my penis 1st.
>>
>>724264016
That's going to be a bitch. Ouch.
>>
Lots and lots of fruit pectin. Mix that shit with water and get an ultrasound
>>
I get them chronically if I don't watch my diet. Water up and get yourself cranberry juice/supplements etc. If it's not jammed up, hammer down on anything that'll get you pissing in the wind, my preference is beer. Coffee works too, I guess, if your into that sort of thing.
>>
OP, I had a lot of beer. It helped a lot in dissolving the stones.
>>
It was removed by pulling it out of my penis shaft.

I didn't know something of 1.5cm diameter would fit through there.
>>
>>724260554

I had a teacher that got them a lot, and he drank a lot of water and juice to try and keep them down.
>>
>>724260554
Cranberry juice
Helped me pass 3.
>>
>>724264492
.... I... don't want to imagine that. Nope. Nope, nope, nope.
>>
>>724264383
Also, around here any stone above 5mm they'll use sound to smash them up or knock your ass out and go up there and get it manually. That last one I don't recommend because they leave a stint in. It's uncomfortably but retrieving the stint is worse then the stone.
>>
Normally don't post on /b/ but I can help here:

I'm a 24 year old dude and have been getting them regularly since I was in the 8th grade. Had about 20 of varying sizes. Even had a nephrostomy 3 years ago.

Drink TONS of fluids that are low in sodium. This means water, green tea, and depending on the chemical composition of the stone, lemonade. Do not drink Gatorade or sweet tea. DO NOT drink soda or energy drinks. You need to encourage your body to get that shit out ASAP. Make sure you stay relaxed, and if you're in so much main you're immobilized, a gentle massage can really help affected areas. Most of all, don't stress about it. Your body is made to pass these, despite the pain you may be feeling.

Best thing for prevention of kidney stones is a healthy lifestyle. Cut out all the shit right now; fast food, soda, energy drinks. High sodium content. If you can get one you can get another one, even if they aren't genetic like mine.
>>
>>724260554
There are three types of stones.

Uric acid stones, which I get in connection with my gout flareups, are generally due to high protein consumption and high carb diet.

the other two types im not familiar with too much

One of the biggest things you can do for treatment is to drink lots of water. You want your urine to run almost clear. The more water you get through your kidneys (up to a point) will help prevent the stone from accruing new mass and can help in diluting the urine to possibly dissolve (or at least break up) the stone.
>>
>>724264989

Oh and cranberry juice. That's not a meme, the high acid content really does help.
>>
>>724264989
>Best thing for prevention of kidney stones is a healthy lifestyle. Cut out all the shit right now; fast food, soda, energy drinks. High sodium content. If you can get one you can get another one, even if they aren't genetic like mine.

The funny thing is that I got mine thanks to unsalted peanuts. The only soda I've ever drank in MONTHS was ginger ale and that's it, and I don't like energy drinks.
>>
>>724260554
Flowmax and dilaudid. I've had the 14 times in the last three years. Worst pain in my fucking life.
>>
>>724262139
ask your doc for painkillers bro, even something mild to curve the pain.
>>
>>724265284
Oh, I did get pain meds. They got me percocet, but sometimes it doesn't help out. Plus, makes me feel drunk.
>>
>>724265216

I can no longer eat peanuts so I feel you my man. We have the same type of stone.

>>724265240

Flomax is a fucking GODSEND holy shit that stuff is amazing for passing stones. Stockpile it if you find yourself getting stones regularly. I can get a script whenever I want from my urologist and I still have about 40 pills in my cabinet.
>>
>>724265069
>DO NOT drink soda or energy drinks
>but do drink cranberry juice with just as much sugar as the sodas

fucking retard
>>
>>724261024

Cashews too?

I love me some cashew indulgence.
>>
>>724265240
Flomax is the cats ass but I've already got low blood pressure so if I take it, I pass out every time I stand up. To radon is my go to.
>>
>>724265410
Flomax? They prescribed me that today. I'm going to pick it up tomorrow. They prescribed me 30 pills of that.
>>
>>724265585
Toradol*
>>
>>724265453

The sugar is acceptable because of the other benefits cranberry juice offers. It is literally the best thing to drink (alongside water) to combat UTIs and help the passing of kidney stones.

If I'm not mistaken, sugar isn't even the worst thing when it comes to making stones. Specifically soda is so bad for you in every single way that it encourages your body to begin the processes that produce stones.

>>
>>724265545
Unfortunately. Basically, like, it's alright to eat nuts, but if you go overboard with them, like I did, it can cause kidney stones.
>>
>>724260554
Lemons. Lemon juice, anything citrus in high amounts helps break them down. Also a low-oxilate diet
>>
>>724265613

Lucky you. Once a day and you'll 1) no longer have to pee like a racehorse every 30 mins and 2) experience less pain/pressure when peeing and in your general bladder area. It does have a weird unfortunate side effect though, in that it stops all ejaculation unless you're like 3 weeks pent up. Straight up nothing comes out, and the orgasm is less intense too. But so worth it.
>>
>>724261024
This is retarded.
>>724261137
This is correct. But you'd have to literally be drinking gallons of the shit.
>>
>>724264492

>>
>>724260554
2 tablespoons 20 mule team borax 3x a day will break em up in about 2 days
>>
>>724265667
>best thing to drink for UTI's

Except no scientific evidence supports this claim and virtually every paper that's studied it has shown cranberry is only as effective as increasing your water intake.
>>
>>724265860
I don't mind that side effect. I'd rather get rid of these fucking stones.
>>
>>724265585
>>724265640

Is toroidal the shit that makes you piss orange? Because I did that once when I had a stent and it was the craziest sensation ever. Stained a few of my boxers permanently
>>
>>724265940
Is not retarded. Nuts are high in oxcilate, which causes kidney stones.
>>
>>724265987
mmmm boron poisoning.
>>
>>724266045
Toradol is just an anti-inflammatory. Pissing orange is usually caused by blood in the urine.
>>
I passed a 6 by 7 stone last August. This is literally he'll on earth
>>
>>724266191
Well, that explains why my piss has been orange lately.
>>
>>724265940

My urologist and my general MD have both specifically told me to lay off of peanuts and nuts with the same coloring. But hey, random guy on 4chan, I'm sure your hunch is more correct.

>>724266009

That may be true, but in my experience it has helped. Maybe that's more of a "mind over matter" situation where it helps because I want it to, but as long as it does I'll keep on doing it. I was always told (can't remember if my doc told me this so I'm not willing to bet on it) that the acid helps to break down threats in the urethra, whether it be bacteria or what have you.
>>
>>724266191

Oh okay my bad. There's a drug that numbs your nether regions that does indeed make you piss orange, but I can't remember anything else about it. I took it probably 7 years ago. I still have one of the boxers though and it looks nasty.
>>
>>724266303
Cranberry supplements have the added bonus of obscuring piss tests if you need to buy time to flush out.

any advice brahs?
Avoid zog food like soda, high sodium shit
dont eat lots of peanuts
avoid calcium overdose
drink like 6 bottles of water a day to make my pee clear

would I never get stones this way
>>
>>724266425
Fuck eh. First time I landed in the hospital I had clusters of stones blocking both kidneys causing them to shut down. They pumped me full of some dye to highlight scans. Pissed green for a day but never orange.
>>
>>724260554
nettle, niacin, got Flexaril(sp?) from doc, drink sour fruit juice (grapefruit, prune, black cherry), dark tea (black, chai)
>>
>>724260554
52 year old here.

I've had 4 over the years starting when I was 21. Went to the emergency room for the first 2 and was in Hell until they shot me up with something (Demerol maybe). The third one I tryed to just stay home and take the percocet I had been prescribed after the 2nd one. I had an empty stomach and got so sick I couldn't even keep water down and had to go to the hospital in an ambulance. That was the most fucked up I've ever been.
The 4th one was just last year. It wasn't as bad as the other 3 and I managed to stay at home, but it took like 2 days to pass.

I heard drinking lots of lemonade helps prevent them because the citric acid helps to break them up before they get big enough to hurt
>>
>>724266668
I landed in the hospital only two days ago. Got to work in the morning, and all of a sudden I felt a "pop" of pain that caused me to collapse. Boss had to call the ambulance and they had to use a stretcher just to get me in. First time getting kidney stones too. Worst pain I have ever experienced in my entire life.
>>
>>724266732
Flexeril?
>>
>>724266841
My story >>724266886
I actually ended up a second time in the hospital because of the same reason, and the nurse actually threw a fit at me saying I should have just gone to my doctor.
>>
Lots of water, hydrocodone, AZO. Then if in ER, they'll probably mainline Demerol, if your screaming like I was. Passed 5 so far.
>>
>>724266951
It's a muscle relaxant. I have some for my bad back, not sure how it would help a kidney stone
>>
>>724266886
Last one I had was stuck for 7 months before the doctors would do anything about it. Stone was 4.5mm so they wanted to wait and see. Was hell at work. Got through most of it with no real issue unless I had to torque a bolt over 200ft/lbs. Second I reefed on the torque wrench, the pain would spike and usually cause me to drop. Boss thought it was hilarious to bring me a wheel chair at the shop. Fucken prick.
>>
>>724267056
They gave me morphine and demerol.
>>
>>724267050
fuck that nurse. I've never had anyone say anything like that to me. She's obviously never had a kidney stone, but I hope she gets one so she can see how stupid she's been.
>>
>>724266583

Only specific kinds of stones are formed by nuts, so that's not a sure fire bet. Best bet is to have a healthy diet and consume a lot of water constantly.
>>
>>724267189
Huh, I think I'm starting to remember what it is. I think my mother also takes some for her back. I'm curious to find out if it would help with kidney stone pain.

>>724267293
I'm kind of dreading going back to work. I feel that the pain and vomiting would interfere with work and cause things to get backed up.

>>724267319
The two paramedics that brought me told me to ignore her. Some people say shit without knowing what the person's going through. The rest of the nurses and doctors were pretty nice, though.
>>
>>724266518
I almost want to stick a fork in my kidney and remove the stones myself.
>>
>>724267882
I had no choice but to power through and keep working. Lead hand at a heavy equipment shop in a mining/forestry town. Plus yanno, gotta provide for the wife and 3 boys.

Checked and hell fucken no it didn't help. Every twist, every bend and every vibration was like a swift kick to the kidney. Maybe it was where mine was stuck but the only relief was laying down on a creeper which doesn't happen as much as I'd have liked.
>>
>>724269019
Shit. Now I definitely don't know if I want to go back to work any time soon. It's bad enough the pain is a huge bitch, but I'm also having trouble eating, and if I don't eat, I end up passing out. Plus, the pain meds they gave me knock me out. Don't know what the fuck to do.
>>
>>724262565

Can confirm, when I had mine it felt like someone repeatedly kicking me in the right nut for days on end.

I've had a few pretty severe injuries in my time, none even come close to the pain those little stony bastards gave me.
>>
>>724268695
Normie. Bleaching is a basic business in porn industry. Thats why your dear porn stars dont complain about dem kidney stones. So if you want to get rid of kidney stones you rinse your assholr well and good with some bleach.
>>
>>724269735
The kind of job I'm at doesn't have benefits unless you're officially hired. Basically they have us starting with training. The only way I could possibly get out of going to work is if I have my supervisor convince my boss that I'm in no condition to work due to the kidney stones, and have them give me at least maybe two weeks off. I could also get a doctor's note to help with it more, since in two weeks I have to go follow up with my doctor. This all started happening on Wednesday anyway, so two weeks should at least be enough, right? Or should it be less?

>>
>>724270342
Have you passed the stone? Residual pain doesn't last more then a day or two, in my experience but waiting to pass one is a crap shoot. Shortest time for me was roughly a day from the time the pain started till I passed the stone. Longest was a little over 7 months before it was removed by the doctor. What your going through, I wouldn't wish on anyone. Nuts in a vice, cork shoved up your pisshole and a length of rebar jammed through your kidney. Not to mention having your taint feel like it's going to explode.
>>
>>724271143
Nope. It's still inside me, and one of the nurses hinted that it's rather big, and I think it's why they prescribed me flomax, which I have to pick up tomorrow. It is, though, trying to break down, since when I pissed yesterday, there was a very tiny stone in my piss.

Fuck that shit. I had one years ago, and it hurt so goddamn much to piss. I had to scream while peeing, because it felt like fire/razor blades were passing through my urethra. The actual stone ended up getting stuck to the tissue in my urethra, and had to be cut out while the anesthetics the doctors gave began to wear off. Worst experience of my life by a long fucking shot.
>>
>>724271700
Try Flomax daily.
>>
>>724271434
That's a good sign then. The Flomax will help a metric fuck ton. Just watch that shit. It's a a med for high blood pressure. Dilates everything. Don't mix with anything that thins your blood. You'll hopefully pass it within a few days. Godspeed anon.
>>
Went to the hospital, got morphine, then a laser shoved up my pee hole (laser lithotripsy.) Pissed sand for a few days, strange feeling yet kinda cool.
>>
>>724271945
High blood pressure, huh? I think they may have felt safe prescribing me that because I have tachycardia, which already raises my blood pressure. Plus, when I was brought in twice, both times my blood pressure was pretty high. But either way, if it'll help, I'm glad then. And thanks, dude. And hope the other anons here can get rid of their stones soon.

Any body organ that can make "stones" I've had them, and let me tell you kidney stones suck the worst. Intense pain was just ridiculous, and I have a really high tolerance for pain. Lucky for me mine pass painlessly as long as I keep myself hydrated, doesn't seem to matter if I eat peanuts or drink sodas. I've let myself get dehydrated once by accident a few years after I was hospitalized for kidney stones, all I did was chug water, soda and alcohol and I was able to pass them without too much trouble. Walking around seems to help as well. There are a lot of different types though so that won't work for everyone, some poor bastards require hospitalization every time.

Gallstones sucked pretty fuckin bad too, but after I almost died when a stone got stuck they ripped out that bastard.

Tonsil stones stink to hell and back but they don't really hurt, kinda weird to get itchy throat and then cough them out though.
>>
>>724273104

Olive oil and lemon juice. Just drink it.

Think of it this way anything you drink goes stright to the kidneys. So drink alot acid drinks like grapefruit juice or lemon juice it will break down the stones and you will pee then out.

The only thing that helps with the pain is passing them. My urologist had me on hydrocodone and it basically never brought the pain down.

Lithotripsy is expensive.
>>
They gave me paracetamol infusion at the hospital, I was vomiting from pain at this point but all was gone under 30sec. It was actually a really small stone but was like a small sharp fish bone in the wrong place of my kidney. They did nothing because of it so I waited it pass. And it passed. Oohh man I could tell where this fucker was...

Anyway when in crisis (like a 11/10 pain) do not drink thinking it will pass. It will be worse.
>>
When I started to pass one, I went to the hospital and they gave me morphine which killed the pain for a while. After that I took pain killers which helped but I could still feel the pain.

I got mine from drinking too much coffee. I would drink like 15 cups and my body would piss out all of the liquid at an insane pace. When I went to sleep my body would process all the liquid I had and I would dehydrate while I slept which caused them to form.

Mine's apparently pretty big, and I can feel when bits of it move down. Hurts. So. Fucking. MUCH.
>>
>>724260554
I had to pass this last year and holy shit did it hurt I wasn't prescribed anything. shit took me at least a week to pass it out. It felt like hell 3/10 would not recommend passing it on with out meds
>>
Depending on what caused the stones they can prescribe either sodium or calcium tablets that will break down the stones into dust while they are still in your body. I passed one but I had 7 more in my kidney and the pills destroyed them all.

I'm going to murder my urologist.
>>
>>724277792
Why?

>>724277688
I would love to know which would help mine, because I just want them OUT.
>>
>>724277986
>Why?
Because he went straight for the expensive lithotripsy instead of trying those. He basically wasted thousands of dollars of my money like a jew rat if it could have been that simple.
>>
>>724278095
Is that the electric thing that breaks the stones?
>>
>>724278354
Yeah. Related, have you ever had a tube shoved up your dick?
>>
I took sodium pills that destroyed mine but my mom had one and they used a laser to destroy it so it probably depends on what it is made up of and how big it is. Also how close it is to passing.
>>
>>724278409
No, because I don't have a dick, but that still sounds painful and gruesome as fuck. Your urologist is an asshole.
>>
>>724278951
Yeah, he's a total asshole.
>>
>>724265355
Percocet is pain med with oxycodon which is pretty strong
>>
>>724278986
I hope I never have to rely on surgery or lasers and stuff. I just want to pass it normally without any trouble and get on with my life.
>>
>>724279018
They also gave me "zofran" for the nausea and vomiting.
>>
>>724279208
>pass it normally without any trouble
This will not happen, it's a jagged stone coming out of a hole that is not meant to eject it. I passed a shard the size of a grain of salt and it hurt even then.
>>
>>724266506
You dont piss orange from tramadol.
>>
>>724266425
I did take this, and I forget what it's called. Shit. It relaxes your urinary tract.
>>
>>724262432
Swen
>>
>>724279348
When I say without trouble, I mean like without getting stuck, because some end up with the stones getting stuck.

>>
>>724276443
For me it was just *pop* and then huge ass pain that made me collapse. Then when I got to the ER, I started vomiting.
>>
>>724276443
In fact, when I felt that, for a moment I thought it was my appendix.
>>
lemon juice

>>
Is it possible to eat fruit yogurt if you have kidney stones? I just want something soft right now.
