not OP, but it pulls off assumptions you never knew you were making & lets you think without them for awhile

when you sober up, you'll realize most of it was just fantasizing but you'll usually have realized a few things that can really influence the way you live afterward

it also comes with an intense euphoria and optimism (though also shyness which can become fear, since you know you won't pass for sober). This is part of why it was investigated as a 'truth serum' way back when, because you'll tend to think that the people that you know already know you're tripping have your best interests at heart

also everything is beautiful and seems to 'breathe' a bit (slowly stretch the skin on the back of your hand & then slowly push it together but not hard enough to fold it - now imagine walls/cloth/trees/etc doing this). At moderately high doses you can also get an intense prismatic effect. At high doses the effect can basically overtake your vision, creating beautiful patterns but meaning you should sit down for a bit or you'll probably run into something

One thing to note is that every time is different, and everybody who takes it reacts differently. Personally I attribute my own variance to what assumptions are removed. Maybe others can chime in?

I knew a guy in high school who did a ton of LSD. Started preaching his philosophy of cycles and death and showing me the notebook he wrote with him while tripping. Pretty much every page was covered with phrases like "everything is cycles" and "death."

Then it got hard for him to get LSD, so he started buying seeds, soaking them in liter fluid, and swallowing them so he could have have a short trip before he vomited them up.
