Alright, start by getting a hat. It doesn't matter what it is, as long as you can afford to lose it. Make yourself comfortable and say, out loud, "When I put on this hat, I am not me. When I take it off, I am me again."

It's important that you say this out loud because you're doing something called "priming," or creating a subconscious suggestion which helps induce the proper state of mind and also allows you to turn off the exercise if things get too creepy for you.

They also reminded me about my falilures and warned me when i was doing something wrong. They saved my skinny ass in a lot of situations. Sometimes they get angry, with my ex for example. when i was a kid, i always thought that i have superpowers. every night i would cover myself with a blanket, eat a candy, and then turn into a Mighty-Morphin-Power-Ranger-ish superhero and then go out and fight monsters. those monsters were usually black hairy creatures with bright red eyes. sometimes they came in a form of flying smoke with human forms. almost every night i would fight these monsters until morning came. usually i would wake up somewhere else, kitchen, attic, bathroom, worst case is when my mom discovered that i slept outside even though the door were locked the whole night. i stopped these so-called night-walking when i was 10. by that time, my mind has sufficiently mature enough to know the reality. but... 15 years later, those 'imaginations' of fighting monsters felt very real. almost like they were real...

Okay, first understand what you mean when you refer to gods. The bicameral mind hypothesis holds that prior to the rise of the modern version of consciousness about 3000-4000 years ago, "the gods" were how we made moral decisions. They would manifest as voices and occasionally in person to tell us what to do. These archetypal entities live in our brains, encoded into the structure. Our own personalities are admixtures of these personality matrices.

If you want proof of this, you can use lucid dreaming (among other techniques) to talk to the gods yourself. Some of the gods can be quite forthcoming and helpful.

Gods don't really die per se, they just get reinterpreted. Confusingly, the word "archetype" actually refers to two very different things. An archetype is the primal, symbolic form which gives rise to representational reality, but the word also refers to the representational manifestations of archetypes. So, for example, the Shadow is an archetype, and Satan is also an archetype, but Satan is a manifestation of the Shadow and "archetype" means something different when applied to each.

I was a child prodigy and taught myself to read and right from comic books at the age of two. I'm nearly 50 now, and I've been reading an average of a book a day since I was 15 or 16. My parents used to take my books away from me to force me to go outside to play, bribing me by saying I could have one book back for every 15 minutes I played street hockey. I'd spend all night reading under the covers with a lamp unless my parents caught me.

When they threw me out at the age of 17, I was finally free to read everything I wanted to. It's been nearly 35 years and I'm still as voracious a reader now as I was in my childhood.

Just a lot of practice. The more you read the better one gets at it. I can read the average paperback in about two or three hours now. The hardest book I've ever read was the CoPR which took me *three months* to read. I'd read a whole page, realize I had read every single word, and then have to go back and read it again because the words simply wouldn't assemble themselves into contextual meaning.

And of course there are some books which I deliberately linger over, reading for pleasure rather than meaning. Lord of the Rings, for example.
