In order to have two hearts, you would either need to have two completely distinct cardiovascular systems (one supporting each half of the body), or two hearts connected to the same cardiovascular system.

If you have two cardiovascular systems, then you're actually REDUCING the benefits of redundancy, because now the left half of your body is only supported by a single set of organs (left lung, left kidney, etc), and if any one organ fails then half of your body is at risk of dying, which ultimately kills you as a whole.

If you have two hearts pressurizing the same system, then you would need a complex system of valves in the arteries to make sure one heart doesn't mistakenly pump blood backwards through the other heart, which ultimately isn't worth the complication (increased risk of failures).

My dad got shot when I was young. The bullet they used was small, and it didn't exit his body. It stayed in and shredded up one of his lungs. They had to remove peices of it. It would have probably been a worse situation if the human body had one lung. Redundancy is good when it comes to organs.
