Am I the only person who thinks this movie isn't that great?

Nearly all war movies are 80 per cent talking.

You had Saving Private Ryan at the same time, which was pretty much a polar opposite of Thin Red Line. This was more melancholic and thought provoking. No surprise from Terrence Malick. It's not for everyone, but I loved it. Plus the music is unbelievable

I can watch a well made war movie that is 80 talking. Thin red line was 80 war but I just think it's a shit movie. Then everybody always says but the cast and the academy awards

i agree the movie only got the nominations because of the all star cast. You watch it and watch it and watch it and then there is 50 fucking minutes left.

Naw it was shit, complete disappointment I don't think i even finished it either

i thought this when i saw it in the 90's, watched the first half two different occasions and gave up on it
