seeking help again still never found out what this lid is all i know its brass and has some weird symbols and what appear to be some creatures on it like a fish and bird any idea what this is? bought it from an antique store the owner wasnt sure what the thing is

My opinion:
It's bronze, not brass...
It's not especially old. The clue is the hinges are riveted from the bottom, and not part of the casting.
It's a cool piece though. Prolly just something decorative, made in asia
