When I think about it at night I jump out of bed in fear. Time will move for ever forward and the small blip of your life will count for nothing and it will be like you barely existed at all.
But there's nothing you can do. So I enjoy life the best I can.

The heat death of the universe can be trivially avoided / circumvented if we so desire.
The answer is patently obvious if you look at "quantum foam" and zero-point energy. New virtual particles and anti-particles are constantly being created and destroyed. Exploit that phenomena and you can perpetuate as much differential as you wish, for as long as you wish.

And, before anyone blathers on about violating the laws of nature and physics... Tell me, what is the difference between: (2 minus 2) and (10 minus 10) or even (10,000 minus 10,000)? Answer: no difference. This is all we are talking about doing: manipulating the equation so the numbers on either side (particles vs. anti-particles) are both arbitrarily large.
