Shoot in 4K, make your final sequence 1080p. This way you can zoom up to 200% without quality loss.

Also, if you want zoom, you'd want a proper lens, so you'd want a proper body = DSLR/DSLM.

Try the Micro Four Thirds system for good but compact DSLM camera's. (Olympus, Panasonic)
