What's the best budgest build desktop i can get between $1400-$1500M
>>

1500m, buy a server cluster and rent it out
>>
>>723348932
>2017
>1500$
You can get a monster with that cash
>>
>>723349471
This. I just built a computer for half that that'll probably stay relevant for a few years before there's a noticable performance drop
>>
>>723348932
I7 7700k a decent z270 mobo, bequiet dark power 750w, GTX 1080, Corsair vengeance ddr4 16 Gigs in 2 slots, use your old SSD/HDD case go for what you like, cool it with a big ass air Tower or watercool with Corsair h100 vor similar. You could also go for ryzen but havent read into that yet
>>
>>723348932
You can get a really good computer for 1500 million dollars.
>>
>between $1400-$1500M
>budget

Does the M stand for some currency other than American Dollars?
>>
>>723348932
$1400-1500 is not a budget build, jesus christ just buy an alienware fag
>>
does ne1 know of a really good external radiator?
>>
>>723348932
1,500 million will get you a pretty good computer.
>>
>>723350154

Consider waiting for Zen. If nothing else, its going to push down Intel prices.
>>
>>723348932
>>723350628
Zen is available for preorder now. Its publicly available for on the 3rd of march. You should wait for reviews to come out first so you know which one to get. Personally i'm looking at getting the Ryzen 7 1700.
>>
>>723350628

Yeah the M was a typo, I realize this is not really a budget build as the pricing/standards have changed completely so disregard that terminology I used originally in my OP.

I appreciate the (actual) feedback I've gotten so far, I'm asking for a friend which is sorta why I took the lazy route and made a thread
>>
>>723351051
i'm not looking for anything way over the top. Just something to chill on and play games with friends but still be relevant for a few years.
>>
>>723350939
You should consider Ryzen CPU's probably Ryzen 7 1700, it has better performance at around the same price. If you have Windows 7 you can still update to windows 10 using the "Windows 10 upgrade using assitive technology" thing Microsoft has (its free so you have $88 or you can put it back into the PC).

Everything else looks okay.
>>
>>723348932
WHAT??
$1400-$1500M

seriously guys.
im planning to build a tower PC with a 5000€ budget, and i want things like: fluid 4K gaming (maybe 2of those geforce 1080)
watercooling, and at least a 1 TB SSD

am i willing to spend too much money?

oh: i will buy one of these curved gaming monitors
>>
>>723351374

No such thing as "too much money" if it is what you want
>>
>>723351374
sounds like a lot of money just to get outdated in 2 years. but more power to you bud.
>>
>>723351234
all the sites im looking at have the 1700 at 400$ which is almost double the i7
>>
>>723350939
>http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Brandoom1/saved/#view=GYtNGX
get a cheaper case, don't put 50 bucks into case fans, and use the saved money to get an i7 or a better GPU. the 1060 is essentially a 980.
>>
>>723351374

4k is like a big fancy thing that is nice in theory. but personally i like 1440p more myself.
dual 1080's running 1 big ass curved 1440p monitor at 120hz.

fuck is that even a product? 1440p, 120hz, curved. personally im not for curved so if a non curved exists let me know.
>>
>>723348932
$1500 au? with monitor?
>>

>>
>>723348932
>1.5 billion dollars

Uh just about whatever you'd like, anon.
>>
>>723351559
The extra bit for the case and fans is fine for me. I'd like to enjoy how my case looks if i'm going to be looking at it a lot. Honestly when i'm actually able to afford it the prices of some of these will have dropped by a bit. I'm kinda broke right now it's a long term goal for me.
>>
>>723351508
>outdated in 2 years

for real?

if i spend 2000€ how lang will that one last?

i wanna play awesome games in awesome quality.

i still hope that star citizen makes it to a launch
>>
>>723351559
>>http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Brandoom1/saved/#view=GYtNGX

my personal input is the i7 isn't too high of a value in gaming performance. i7 is great if you do rendering or lots of program work.

get 1070 or 1080.

case fans aren't needed immediately if you wanted to space out buying.

probably able to save a few bucks by swapping the case out.
>>
>>723351565

Yep it exists. There plenty of them that are 1440p at 120Hz or higher. Just to name a few:

ASUS MG278Q, Acer Predator XB271HU, ASUS ROG PG278QR, BenQ XL2730Z

Got even more available if you want to include 1440p ultrawide.
>>
>>723351722
it will last 10-20 years if you build a decent computer. you won't be able to play on high settings in 5 years, but you'll still be able to play games.
>>
>>723351722
about the same time. Every year they put out better stuff. I mean don't get me wrong it will be outdated but it won't be obsolete. It'll still run almost 100% of what companies can make. But 4K is stilla lot for a pc.
>>
>>723351182
Took a bit longer since I'm on mobile.
You can get windows from less than legitimate means or purchase it but it's around the same price as your first one. The second link is the motherboard since they didn't have it on PCPartPicker.

Budget? That's beast not budget.
>>
>>723351803
geezus christ.
alright then so they do exist.

personally wanna get what would fit best with my capabilities. i enjoy the double and triple monitor setups.

a GTX 1070 founders could reasonable support 1 1440p i'd assume.
Could I get 3 monitors out the one card? or would 1080 be my limit for all this pixel pushing?
>>
>>723351650
use this site
>>
>>723351851
I also kept the case since i assumed you chose it since you like it but you can move money around in what i sent
>>
What's the difference between Ryzen and Intel?
>>
>>723351981
yeah thanks. i'm still choosy on what i want. It's not my final build. i'll look over yours and mine and decide what i want.
>>
>>723351722
No, not for real, my pc's youngest component is 3.5 years old.

>i still hope that star citizen makes it to a launch
You can play it now if you want
>>
As others have said, hold off until ryzen gets reviewed properly. Its looking like gg for intel currently.
>>
>>723351983
From what ryzen has shown, price for performance. Ryzen from what they have shown is cheaper for the same or better performance.
>>
>>723351983
>Ryzen and Intel
AMD and Intel
>>
>>723351912

If you want multi-monitor go with an huge ultra-wide instead. This is pricey - but you'd like it.

Asus ROG PG348Q

34" is huge and though it is sold as 100hz you can overclock it to 120.

Oh, and it's IPS so it will have kickass color gamut.
>>
>>723352130
> Its looking like gg for intel currently.
They'll just gut their prices, just means they won't be creaming the populace for a year or so. It's happened before.
>>
>>723352208
>Update
bookmarking that mate.

ive heard you can overclock monitors. what is that about? this future we live in where i can overclock monitors now?
>>
>>723351739
i7's are becoming more useful. i can name a few games that benefit from hyperthreading:

Witcher 3
Fallout 4
Crysis 3
Battlefield 1 (Major improvements over i5's)
GTA V
Assassin's Creed Syndicate

It's starting to have an impact moreso in newer titles. If you don't believe me, head to the Battlefield 1 PC Forums and check out all the i5 user complaints.
>>
>>723352291
Plenty of games do, I run an FX8350 and on my second monitor have a cpu monitor, not many games now that don't utilise multiple cores. Also DX12 will blow all the historic lack of utilisation to the weeds.
>>
>>723352291
Oh alright than.
im also person askin bout monitors and such
but i have a i3 6100. i dont experience performance issues in BF1 actually.

but hey things change, if the i7 is finally doing good for gaming. thats good

other question guys:

after my time in the military (which will last until 2022) ill get paid the next 4,5 years (until 2026)
in that time i can do/study/learn any job i want. ( and ive got 25000€ to spend on job helping things like school, extra education wahtever)
should i go into IT? maybe game design?
where can i make a lot of Cash and dont have a shitty job?
>>
>>723352509
IT = shitty job. be an electrician or something.
>>
>>723349880
Like other anon said, wait for Ryzen benchmarks or wait to see if Cannon lake is worth it.I would just go with Ryzen though, it's more immediate and Kaby lake was a let down.
>>
>>723352692

This. Become an electrician or plumber. Make mad wads of dosh for even the smallest jobs.
>>
>>723352839
>I would just go with Ryzen though, it's more immediate
Or go with it because AMD has a history of supporting chipsets so your pc will be upgradable beyond 18 months, they've always run prices tighter than Intel even when they were faster in the early 2000's and because fuck Intel and their predatory practices.
>>
Opinion time. Got an old system that is based on an i5-4670. Was going to get a new Phanteks case anyway and clean it up with a Evga Supernova G3 and replace my aging 750ti with a 1080 SC.

Seeing as Ryzen has just set for preorders, for about the same amount I can skip getting a new powersupply and the 1080 and get in on the Ryzen 7 1700X with an Asus Prime mobo and Corsair H110i. I'd just have to snag some DDR4 ram and that might put me a bit over my $800 upgrade budget.

Should I stick with my original plan to get a 1080 and wait for Ryzen on Christmas or net tax season? Or should I snag Ryzen now and wait on the GPU upgrade for later?
>>
>>723353114
Get the 1080 if you game, itll have more impact.
>>
>>723353169

What I was thinking. Thanks! What are the odds that the i7s will drop in price in reaction to Ryzen or that the Ryzens will go on sale during the holidays this year?
>>
>>723353292
Without question, there will also be an influx of semi recent I7's for sale cheap.
>>
>>723353114
Get the Ryzen, it'll give you less to worry about down the line. GPUs can be swapped out easily but upgraded CPUs require rebuilding the whole thing.
>>
I built a little computer late 2015 and only spent about 1200 (not counting peripherals). It's still tanking through everything I do (rendering, ps, 1440 uw battlefield 1) without any issues.

Went xeon e3 (probably would go for an overclocking processor on my next build), h7 cooler, h97 mobo (should have went z, again for oc), 16 gb ram, ssd for the os, 8 tb for the porn, r9 gpu, overkill g2 750w psu, nzxt case, and I bought windows off the grey market.

No regrets though, because I still haven't had a need to overclock, anyway.

Then I spent like 1500 on my mouse, keyboards, and monitor like a dipshit.
>>
>>723353729
He still won't be able to game though, changing from an I5 to a Ryzen and using a 750ti will make next to 0 difference in games.
>>
>>723348932
Are you console fag perhaps? See, computers don't actually cost 1500 million.
>>
>>723351374
Curved monitors suck ass.
>>
>>723351722
Just spend 2000e and get best parts you can get, then upgrade every now and then with the remaining 3000.
