>claim your 2D waifu
>post pics of your waifu
>insult other waifus
>keep ERP and RP to a minimum
>discuss stuff
>post fitting, not over-sexualised content
>most important: Have fun!

I feel like I know it well enough, but it's difficult to stay motivated to keep studying when your grades are good so far and you feel like you know the subject already.
Even so I'm gonna head out for breakfast early and study some more.
How's life?
>>723117975
Then why did you want to see it?
best jojo girl
>>723118354
True, I found myself in that position from school all the way up into my last couple of years in University. I'd get bored pretty easily unless I would do a lot of extra research on my own. Wouldn't be motivated to study as much because of it and sometimes got burnt as a result. The last two years felt like a playground for me however, with all of the upper level biology work and starting to prepare for med school at the time.
Life's good, back to work tomorrow after something of a rough weekend, but beyond that, I got a lot of things to keep me busy now that the weather is starting to warm up here again. Almost time to start getting the garden ready.
I guess you can't understand complex thoughts if you don't have them yourself.

Hell, if you come out with a passing grade on the other side, you're good. I ended up being a 2.8 student, but was quite alright with that. Grades alone only give part of the picture.
Had a funeral service for my grandfather on Friday, then helping my parents with some paperwork and estate planning on Saturday since power of attorney, probate, and all of that fun stuff can blindside you if you're not prepared. Sunday and today were all for relaxing though, it felt great to go to the ranch and spend the day grilling and fishing yesterday.

I took that 2.8 and was fine with it since it was all my own doing at the end of the day. I could have really pushed myself for a 3.5 or more, but ultimately wanted more of a balance with studies and having more life experiences while I was away from home. Never regretted it, and only have had one employer ask about it, and very briefly during an interview.
>>723121114
How large is that university where you work? Sounds pretty big considering the level of activity. That last hour ought to pass by a little faster, especially if you're posting here.

PLANTS HAVE EMOTIONS
THEY LITERALLY CANNOT THINK MUCH LESS HAVE COMPLEX THOUGHTS
ALL DOGS HAVE ARE INSTINCT NOT COMPLEX THOUGHTS.
>>723121298
Dogs don't have complex thought. Example dog tied to a pole and the rope is wrapped around the pole with a food bowl just out of reach. The dog does not have the sense to go around the pole until they have enough slack to get to the food. They are stupid animals nothing more.
>>723121180

This. Dogs do not have rational thought. Feelings are not rational thought. Dogs don't ask questions like why they exist and most dogs do not realize that they are seperate living beings, they are capable of feeling, just as plants and most animals are. Hell goldfish can feel sad, is the mystery of humanity hidden in the goldfish? No.
Rational thoughts are deeper than feelings, which are irrational thoughts

>>723121207
It's weird no matter where
>>723121255
No, quite a few do
>>723121640
Yes, evolutionarily speaking it makes sense for plants to have evolved emotions so they can react with their environment to make them more survivable. But we do not know of any centralized nervous system or brain for plants, so there's a limit to how much they can feel.
>>723121701
That's stupid. Have you considered the dog is a lower angle and can't see as much as the human? To a dog's eyes so close to the ground, it looks like a single line around a pole, not many wrapped lines. Also consider their eyesight is not as good as ours.
Stupid bullshit, same as the mirror test. That doesn't measure consciousness, it measures eyesight.
>>723121743
Some dogs are soloists or loners. How do you explain them?

You will never be able to communicate with your dogs outside of basic commands.
>>723122267
Dogs are pack animals, in nature they'll group up because they hunt in groups
And that wasn't the point, the point is emotions tend to be tied to survival
If you do something good, and feel good you're likely to do it more
Conversely, you try to avoid bad feelings and things that cause them
Fear: If you beat a dog enough, it will fear you because it knows it's likely to get hurt
Gee, I wonder if that aids survival
>>723122267
No it measures problem solving. They would feel it pulling them back yet they do nothing but fight against it. THEY ARE NOT PEOPLE AND NEVER WILL BE. Fucking hope people realize how stupid you are, put you in a loony bin and give your dogs away.

>>723122216

>>723122267

Rational thought only involves asking what ifs.
Dogs are not sentient. They do not have the realization that they are dogs. They live life to live. This is why dogs do not make art, this is why dogs do not make music.
Humans have gotten past the point of survival. We need something more than living to fuck and die, which is what dogs and most animals live for.
Most people do think rationally, if as much as "what would happen if..." you know who never asked that question? A dog.
There's a reason why dogs bark at mirrors. They don't have self conscience they are not sentient. Stop fucking believing in retarded ideas just to justify your sexual acts.

Yes but dogs are domesticated so it makes no difference if they like being around other dogs or not. I've met plenty of dogs who like being away from other dogs, but obviously most of them like people since that's what humans selected for when breeding them.
>>723122662
If you actually took the time to show the dog how to unravel itself and repeated it enough times, they would remember and do it on their own. My dogs figured out how to untie themselves from a pole like that when they were young because I taught them how. I've been trying to teach them how to open doors recently but door knobs are impossible for them.
Remember, their eyes are lower to the ground. They don't easily see things your eyes way above them can. Just because they can't see it doesn't mean they're stupid. That makes you fucking stupid for not taking common god damn sense into account.
Common sense man.
>>723122818
I've never heard of that experiment but it does make sense honestly. If a plant knows a nearby plant dies it wouldn't want to end up the same way.
We already know plants point their leaves towards the sun, so they must have some level of consciousness.
>>723123148
Dogs don't bark in mirrors unless it's the first time they've seen one.
This is a fucking stupid way of seeing things honestly.
>Hurr dog doesn't magically know how to do things nobody taught it
>Must be less conscious!
Fuck off dude. You can teach a dog most of these things you're saying they're incapable of. Or they can become accustomed to them with enough experience.
>>723122513
I see it as one, I had a ton of expectations when I went off to school, during, as well as after. Things weren't what everyone was expecting as I moved along with studies and my own life. On that note, I don't regret how it's turned out one bit. Plus there's some accomplishment in showing others that there's more than one way to do things right. Same will apply to you when it's time to start making your own way in the world.
>>723123064

>>723123437

Hmm... I wonder why?
Maybe survival?
Same reason dogs (and all animals) have fear. To survive. Fear teaches to stay away from a thing so that they can survive.
Also anywho emotions are just chemicals in the dogs brain telling it what to do.
And these chemicals are in your brain as well, telling you to try and play down the truth.

>>723123437
That's because they form a pack with the people and animals in the household
To them it's not any different, there's a leader and those that obey that leader
Some dogs are less social because they don't know other dogs well, they don't know if they'll get into a fight or not so they take the safe chance and avoid them
That's why it's important to socialize puppies, because they're more open to the world

You can't even make this shit up.
Who taught the first humans to draw or bang rocks to make percussive beats? Fucking aliens?
No. No. By your standards dogs probably predated human intelligence. Wolves were the ones drawing the cave drawings.
Teaching a dog to do something by encouragement through treats and it doing it on its own free will for the purpose of fulfillment is completely different.
And yes, dogs usually do bark in front of mirrors even after the first time.
And again stop trying to justify you fucking your canine companions.

Okay but you just said that dogs aren't conscious because they form packs. So now you're changing your previous statement?
Or are you gonna go off on a limb and somehow say that dogs are unconscious because they form packs with humans and not other dogs?
I just don't get your point.
Does your waifu even have a moustache?

Anything with a brain is conscious

this has happened before
perhaps i should put "Nazrin" in all my filenames?
>>723124259
Well there's evidence of alien involvement in early man, so who knows.
You made a blanket statement that ALL dogs bark at mirrors. I then proved it false because you can accustom a dog to a mirror. So now you're butthurt because you can't figure out basic logic enough to understand that exceptions to a rule always exist, especially in biology.
It seems to me like you already have your pre-determined conclusion, and you're trying to arrange evidence or speculations to fit your pre-determined conclusion, rather than gathering evidence to find an unknown conclusion.
So once again, basically like christians who you can't convince no matter how factually wrong they are. They will just keep contradicting themselves and moving the goalpost over and over. Then declare victory after being proven wrong constantly.
>>723124466
Right, but you said they don't have complex thought BECAUSE they only form packs. Then I showed you an example where they don't form packs, and you moved the goalpost to include humans in the "pack" when it's not the same thing.
What about lone wolves in the wild who don't form packs then? No human companion there.

Thanks for the advice, you wise old man :)

Hello cute Ritsu
How are you?
>>723124259
I'm good. Just relaxing after work.
What's wrong?
>>723124807
No, forming packs has nothing to do with complex thought
I never said it did
I used it as an example to explain why they have emotion, to incentive survival
To a dog, a human can be in their pack, that's kinda why they're good pets and were easy to domesticate
You assume lone wolves are happy then?
They have so much difficulty with life, they'd have no reason to willingly fly solo
>>723124909
Doesn't mean they don't think it

Wow. Just wow.

So please give me evidence of a dog acting on anything other than to release energy by acting out a primitive action or survival.
Please.

They can't solve problems
Or question anything
If wolves can't find food, they move to a new area or die
They'll never think to farm or keep animals for food like people did

>Can't solve problems
There have been tons of different experiments proving dogs' problem solving abilities.
http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/11/24/smart-dog-border-collie-learns-language-grammar/3691967/
I don't know about questioning things since that's not as easy to measure.
>If wolves can't find food, they move to a new area or die
They'll never think to farm or keep animals for food like people did
This is true, but there's no reason to think they'll never evolve to be able to, or even possibly have humans direct their evolution to be capable of such things with technology. Of course, that would take a long time.
>>723126033
>well there's evidence of alien involvement
>not saying that
What
>>723126410
Not making a 100% statement but there's plenty of evidence suggesting alien presence on earth for a long, long time. Probably long before humans.
>>723126294
Dogs are protective of a group such as a pack, humans and fellow companions are extensions of pack mentality.
uhhhh new thread?
new thread when?
