Hey /b/,

recently got my hands on a Kindle 4 NoTouch Silver (2011)

I felt it'd be a good way to read more, since I didn't really have the space or money to buy a lot of books before

It goes without saying that I don't intend to pay for the books I put on it, but I've been told you can only put Amazon EBooks on it. Do I need to jailbreak this thing or something, or is there anything else I need to do before I can put dickloads of pirated EBooks on it?

The Software version currently on it is 4.0.1., should I update it?

Also post sources for small filesize ebooks

As long as they are in .mobi, .txt, .html, .pdf, the kindle will read it.

I recommend Calibre. You can store, organize, transfer, convert all of your ebooks.

I find my books on usenet.

Can you also shrink ebooks you have with it? Somewhat like DVD Shrink

e.g. if an ebook is full of graphics that could be reduced in size/omitted entirely
