It absolutely doesn't make up for the downfalls of the OS. Look, if a PC is what's in your budget that's cool, you can still do stuff with it. But pretending that Windows can be on the same tier as MacOS for sheer usability is insane.

The whole reason MacOS is more stable is that they only have to account for their own hardware. Windows has to deal with drivers for 11 gazillion pieces of hardware by rando manufacturers from 20 years ago and that irreparably harms its ability to not suck.

This is completely true, and you pay a hell of a premium for it. But benefits can be found in the same places that you find drawbacks. Efficiency is traded for the ability to use a much wider variety of software.

My point is, you can get a pc that scores higher on benchmarks, plays smoother, has a higher resolution, has a wider selection of games you can play (and a wider selection of things outside of games that you can do), all for a price less than the cost of a decent tier mac.

If all you want is a machine that just werks on the majority of shit for a few years, mac is perfect. But 100% of the time you can buy or build a higher performing pc, even taking into account the os, for whatever you paid for your mac.
