Earlier today i started to receive strange calls to my home phone.

Earlier today i started to receive strange calls to my home phone. The phone does not display the number people that call but i feel like whoever ever was calling would use a private number anyway.

Any way to get right down to business i answered the phone today expecting it to be family so i answer in my usual way.

"Hello anon speaking"

I listen for a response and get just a plain tone.

"Hello"

Once again im answered with the same tone for the same 1 second duration before silence. I tell them to go fuck themselves and then it starting doing the tone in 2 second intervals. Tone on for 1 second off for two on for 1 so on so on, after the 2nd rotation i got creeped out and hung up.

Skip about 5 minutes to the dot (timed it with a youtube video i was watching at the time with my friend) I get another call, expecting it to be my family this time i answer but before i had the chance to speak it started to do the beeping cycle all over again. I immediately hung up...

What can i do about this? Is there anyone i can report this strange behavior to and just what the hell do you think those strange tones could have been? I will admit im a bit scared of just who the hell is calling me.

I also get regular calls from a person that never responds and i just shrugged it off as someone trying to case my home.
