Yo /b/ any vet-fags here? I need some advise on my skinny weiner dog/chihuahua mix. He doesn't want to put on weight, and only eats human food (beef, pork, etc..) with the exception of his treats. >inb4 you say worms! No, he does'nt have worms. We feed him alot of food, sometimes he doesn't eat so we make him(acting like we're going to eat it). Thanks for any advise

As long as he is eating, he should be fine.

He might have a high metabolism which would account for lack of weight.

Human food is better protein than dog food, but dog food has more variety for overall nutrition.

Thanks man, but is there anything i can do to make him gain weight? Visited the vet and they say he's ideal weight, but he's skinny, (not as in emaciated or bones showing) but he doesn't have a belly. I bought some edible gel that helps dogs gain weight and it was chicken liver flavored but he didn't eat any. He's a picky eater. He loves ground beef, steak, pork, his "rewards" which are big bags of snacks we give him. "Golden Reward (chicken jerky), and "Dream Bone's (alt. To rawhide). Oh! And he also throws up when he eats chicken!
