However, I'm torn on this. I think there's a good case to be made for the idea that we need a disaster like Trump, the same way a forest sometimes needs a brush fire. I think Pence would end up retaining the support of the so-called alt-right while appeasing the more establishment types, and that would probably lead to another 8 years, rather than 4 (or 2 years or 5 months kek). And I think if we can manage to stick out 4 years with Trump, he's going to leave the republican party in shambles -- I would just hope that he doesn't end up appointing more than one member of SCOTUS.

With Pence, we would still end up with the same cabinet, and therefore, the same approach to the economy/environment/education system. But... at least with Pence, we could focus on the systemic issues a bit more, rather than constantly bickering over Trumps latest bullshit.

I think you might be right. It sounds like some Ra's al Ghul craziness though, like I want some kind of purge. I think we have a similar problem in the UK where things have been too easy. People are being sold the story that their lives are too hard and it's all someone else's fault. The problem is that most people alive today haven't experienced real hardship, so they don't realise how lucky they are. It's like a load of fat people at a feast who have all eaten their fill, but start fighting each other as soon as they hear a rumour someone who wasn't invited got a bread roll. People who had been hungry would just be happy to be full.
