And like another anon said; start with low weight and high reps. You'll train more on cardio than musclegrowth, which will result in losing fat and getting a more defined shape

SO it is a mix of wath you take in (eat) and take out (exercise in general)
in order to loose weight you need to eat less than your calories spending

-eat less, exercise more (no obligation to go to the gym)
remember that keeping warm and your brain takes a lot of energy so : remove a sweater or lower the house temp (not by much 2-3 deg is ok)

try for a week : no soda pop, no alcohol, and cut the deserts
YOU NEED NOT be hungry
you 'll see in a week time by doing nothing you'll have lost 5lbs !
