personally though i'm a lot more frustrated with a right wing that shits on the rest of the world, enshrines bizarre definitions of "liberty" and "freedom" which value the capacity to accumulate arbitrary amounts of wealth over taking care of fellow human beings (or making sure that the concentrated wealth stemming from conservative policy doesn't turn our state into an oligarchy). i know this doesn't characterize everyone on the right, but it's the message i get from checking out right wing media, which i try to do from time to time.

i want to see political discourse be about solving problems, not pushing ideology, and i'm convinced the far right has long fallen off of that cliff.

CSPAN is probably the most straight-forward "news" outlet you're gonna find - but its really not a news organization. They just film and broadcast it uncut as it happens - most people don't have time (or want to spend time) to sit around watching it.

The only way we'll get a truly moderate news organization in this country is if 1) somebody founds one, since the others are so entrenched in their sides, and 2) moderate, sensible people who want to hear a balanced perspective actually bite the bullet and pay for it themselves.

The shady relationships between news outlets and advertisers has always been a problem, and its gotten even worse with digital over-saturation.

NPR is as close as you'll get to something like that, but although I consider it the most reserved and respectable outlet we have, even it has a tendency to sway left.
