We found out TODAY that my wife is going to have to work Saturday through next Saturday as third shirt every day. She is salaried (and makes over 50k) so apparently that means they can force her to work two weeks straight (usually she's 8-4 mon-Fri) without extra pay or flex time. This is my 30th birthday. The birthday I am having mental trouble with b/c I feel that I wasted my 20's (my youth). She knew this would be a painful b-day, but she can't do anything about it b/c, of course, the company is more important than her family. I'm so upset, but neither of us can do anything. Cheer me up, I'm really depressed. We had traveling plans and she was told SOL. Now I'll spend it alone.

I meant 3rd SHIFT for the next week.

>"work"
Yeah, sure.
She's getting away from your whinny faggot ass.
With her stud.

No... no, she definitely has to work. She's been randomly told to do this over times she was excited about before. She was really upset about it too. And honestly, would you not be pissed about the fact that you paid to go somewhere with your wife and then she was told to work that weekend and fuck your plans? don't think I'm being whiny, just realistic.

>painful b-day
go fuck yourself
you're on a board filled with 15yr olds and basement dwellers.

Also, am I whiny b/c I think someone in the 50k range should really have to work for almost 14 days straight? Someone who incurred debt for a masters? There was a law that said anyone who made around $47k had to be paid for extra work, but that bill was basically put on standby after a few weeks. Even so, b/c she makes just over that she has to randomly succumb to ridiculous hours, 14 days straight? I could see it if she made 80k plus, but she doesn't. It just sucks man.

OP's 30th birthday party.
>>722568944
Ha, why did I even ask here? You know if you'd paid a couple grand to go somewhere with your wife (who you actually like and have fun with) you'd be pretty pissed that your 30th birthday were ruined too. We had great plans, and now I'm pretty much alone. Sorry you losers don't understand what it's like to be disappointed by NOT being with the person you like to be with on your b-day since you're so used to being alone anyway.

If she's on a flexible schedule she should have requested that time off. Especially if you guys put $$$ out ahead of time for it.
>>722568768
>It just sucks man.
Welcome to the real world son.
How do you think she'd feel having to do that working for minimum wage?
Wait - you think that's OK because they don't EARN as much.
>whinny faggot

>>722569501
no, she's actually not on a flexible schedule and that time had been asked off for months. This happens very infrequently, but even though we had plans, again, she was told "oh well this is more important" all b/c her plant hadn't made enough product and she's in charge of the scheduling. Also, the few hourly people that are working extra get time and 1/2, so most of them are happy.

So she asked for this time off months ago, paid a deposit, and was told she had to work now - right?
Lotta good that Masters Degree is doing for her.
Maybe she should seek employment with a company that can respect her more.

I understand what it's like to forget to arrange time off. But I blame the person who didn't arrange for the time off instead of the company for needing the schedule people.
/assuming your wife is telling the truth

>and that time had been asked off for months
Was it confirmed? Because it's not time off until it's confirmed.
