There has always been a weird parallel between classic US and AUS cars.
How about lost cars?
Cars that came in an era that all they did was crush them.
1970 to 1979
>>722415478
Waffen/10
>>722415364
Yeah a bunch of Holdens showed their GM mother company heritage
>>722415461
In Aus that would be nothing but a farm tool.
If it had a jarrah floorboard tray and some other things to make.it special maybe.
>>722415478
Interesting/cool/impressive.
Not classic though.
>>722415312
Meh, after 72 they started adding bullshit environmental stuff like injecting extra air into the exhaust, and '73 oil crisis pretty much signalled the end of the muscle car. Nothing after 1976 is quite as good. Most would argue 69 was thee best year.
Back then a teenager could work minimum wage for a summer or two and buy a brand new, fucking car. the Dodge Superbee was aimed directly at that market.
But then, of course the conservatives decided they were done sharing wealth and the baby boomers morphed into the yuppies in the 80's and Reagan took out than big ol' republican dick and friction-fucked the middle and lower income brackets for 8 years. Meanwhile the right-wing propaganda machines kicked into high gear, and low-income bible-belt fuckheads voted against their own interests pushing politics further and further to the right, and now there is no left-wing party anymore, and here we are with a tyrannnical psychopath in the whitehouse.
Good job, America! Keep fucking that chicken!
One foot off the ground
>>722415558
It went a few years past that to include the dolerean.
At that time America was afraid of new things.
That continues right up until now.
Back in 1975 when you couldn't afford a van for shaggin' in.
>>722415576
Not just the Holdens anon
Most US Charger fans don't know about these
>>722415312
i have this ford capri,i take it to shows sometimes
>>722416241
>>722415814
OP is ausfag.
Our cars weren't subject to environmental laws till much later
>>722416288

Some love for our lost AMC
>>722415814
I feel share your pain Grandpa.
You gotta learn to adapt or shut the fuck.up.
If you were truly an old cunt you should now by now that nobody gives a fuck about your "back in my day" stories...
>>722415860
Something you don't see much anymore although the fwd's lift a back leg.
>>722415860
I'd say 2 tyres from the height of the rear right side roof.
(Camera right)
this wins - 250 gto
After the EPA tried to kill our fun they still made some classics
>>722415967
Ruined by modern accessories..
Nigger pls go

Do you all recognize the car model?
I actually drove a 68 vintage one in High School
>>722416335
But even then nobody cared about enforcing them until about 1980
>>722416609
Shared a lot with this guy
>>722416396
Ass is too high compared to the roof.
Looks like a nigger girl
>>722416555
The thread asked for classic, not Homo
>>722415693
It did have a 12v Cummins in it with nitrous so it was a bit more retarded than a farm tool.
>>722415734
The last of the v8's
>>722416708
Cant.open the pic.
This is an in going problem which other anons have also reported.
I think it's one of Hiroshima Nagasaki's cheap tricks.
Looks like a triumph from the thumbnail.
Thumbnail judgement is best I can do.
>>722416800
NO.
That car has no nigger accessories.
I think you misunderstood my post.
>>722416427
I don't listen to little shits who are younger than my favorite shirts.
Plus, I got time to kill.
>>722416964
12v or V12?
Only.one makes sense, but NO2 doesn't makes.sense for a 12
But hey, Not making sense doesn't mean it isn't fun

12v.

Gramps...
This is a classic car thread.
You write one paragraph related to cars then trailed off into political nonsense.
We still love you grandpa, but your political anger should be shared here...
>>>/pol/
>>722417441
Nothing about that is classic.
>>722416071
>>722417509
Are you retarded?
It sure seems that way.
Here u go... Eeh. mista offica
>>722417760
OP specified pre- 1980's.
The truck is pre 1980's.
>>722417509
Please explain
>>722417902
I didn't post any truck.
Not did any post in the reply string if you click them.all the way back to the top.
I'm not understanding the point you are trying to make
>>722417171
The 1968 through 1973 mustangs and cougars share the same accessories.
Rare on both cars were the power window option and they shared the electronics and switches.
The cougars are a rarer car because they were less desirable. So often the Cougars were crushed and the mustangs saved.
But during that era (1971-1973) the mustangs were considered large and bulky compared to previous years.
That coupled with the inferior metallurgy of cars from 1970 through 1989 made these cars go to the scrap heap and crushed.
However, some of the early models were equipped with 428 cobra jets and were a stout track car.
>>722415312
My favorite car ever made
Not a dd yet, still have some minor issues to go thru.
>>722417097
1968 Ford Cortina GT. The first pic was a Lotus Cortina.
The Lotus ran a 1500cc engine with a Lotus head. High tech back then it was a dual overhead cam motor.
The 1968 GT ran a 1600cc
>>722418140
Nice car.
From most accounts it drives like a bitch though.
>>722418140
i liked the old fast backs. this has always been my fav
>>722418346
OP pic is nicer than that.
Your favourite is still a fucking nice car though.
>>722418346
Always liked the hideaway headlights on the 69
>>722416928
my bad, didn't realise it was gay to look good, sound incredible and go round corners properly.
my 68 nova
69 Oldsmobile 442
>>722418547
I think you mean...
>sound like a screaming baby
>look like a faggot
>and corners require non green explanation.
Cornering properly is very vague.
Sure thing your fagmobile will.corner faster than most classic cars on a dead flat purpose built track.
But if that's the only place you drive your fagmobile then you should kill yourself.
Please don't respond anymore u less you can post a timestamped pic to prove you even own that car.
>>722418827
Thats nice.
I feel.it would look better without the nostrils though.
Vroom vroom
How the fuck can this thread die off suddenly when there is cou.other cancer threads going on.
Is anyone else even lurking?
I don't understand how this thread can be beaten out by trap/cockrate/WWYD threads...
It makes.no sense to me.
By letting this die you are helping that shit get on the board.
>>722416708
I've raced against plenty of Cortinas in one of the Fiat's I pictured, 1600 v 1600, good fun.
>>722416726
True, it was the beginning of the end though, carbon canisters, EGR, low compression
>>722419121
Ram air intake.
For getting more cold air into the motor.
The faster you go, the more cold air is forced into the motor.
Mustangs and other cars from that era had them.
>>722420370
Ram air on an early firebird
>>722420483
and the internals.
The foam was a gasket between the hood and carburetor
>>722420370
Australias take on that layout, Falcon XB GT coupe
>>722420358
Catalytic converters are the worse of it.
In the beginning it was just redirecting some exhaust into the intake manifold.
(A prime example of the rule makers not understanding the thing they are making rules for).
That catalytic though.
11%+ power goes to running that shit.
I'm all for environmental control, but i want an accurate graph representation of exactly how much emissions the catalytic converter removes.
Then I want a graph comparing it to how much extra fuel it cost to achieve that.
I'm sure these exist somewhere.
I'm way too.dru k to research.
If any anon has this info I would greatly appreciate it.
>>722419029
Owns a 250gto? haha get fucked cunt, they sell for 20odd million htf would a /b/ fag own a gto.
As for the sound - listen to one and they raced on street circuits as often as purpose built tracks, that's what racing used to be.
>>722420370
There's a reason that didn't last.
Scoops in the bonnet do very little as far as airflow, cooling goes.
There is a reason scoops were eventually put around the carbs themselves and raised above the bonnet.
> bonnet=hood for americans
>>722420592
How did that gasket let air in from the hood vents?
Was there a duct system on the bottom of the hood that led to that?
>>722420870
Don't assume anon.
I know a guy that owns one.
Hes probably not a /b/tard, but this idea that everyone on here is a loser is very flawed.
1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1
>>722421380
I'll keep assuming away anon, there is 0 chance anyone who has ever owned a GTO has ever knowingly visited /b/ Nobody who can lay down over 20m on a car, a toy, is going to waste time in a place like this.
Check out the soundtrack of this thing.

>>722420370
You know that never worked right?
Engines run on a vacuum they suck.
Blowing air onto them doesn't really help.
Maybe a very small amount, but not enough to make any real difference.
>>722421563
Thats based on the assumption they bought it yesterday.
They didn't always cost that much.
>>722421060
NACA ducts work but I spose they're the exception to the rule.
>>722421703
Makes plenty of difference on GP bikes, all depends how fast you're going and how efficient the system is.
>>722421785
They were never affordable, even to most rich car enthusiasts, 36 were made, 36 still exist and the price was always astronomical.
>>722421785
He's underage.
He has no concept of the past
>>722421859

>>722421849
You know 100% only 36 were made?
Fuck man.
I have something he wanted badly and when he asked.my price I said it would be too high for him since my grandparents found it for me and it's irreplaceable.
He kept asking how much and I kept telling him too.much.
I.gotta message him.now...
Looking the price.wasnt too much.

I don't care what year it is.
I knew they were rich, which explains why when I said what I would sell.it for was too.much, and he never made.an offer, he kept asking what I wanted for.it.
Fuck man.
I don't need the money, but I just bought a house.
That kinda cash into a mortgage could help.out long-term.
I'm getting.hold.of him and selling him this shit for the numbers I though we're stupid to give him last time
Cheers anon.
