Take two cans of spam, one is empty and one is intact and sealed. If exposed to the pressures of the deepest part of the ocean will they both get crushed? Or will only one of the two get crushed? If so which one? Or will both remain in their original form unscathed?
Explain your reasoning.
This is causing heated debate and needs to be settled.

They would both be crushed down to the size of dice. Equal pressure from all sides will cause both the full can and empty can to be crushed beyond recognition.

Both cans will remain unharmed. A hermetically sealed can of spam has no air inside. There is nothing to equalize. Same goes for the empty can.
