Potato Potato.
Worrying yourself with stupid details like that is and backwards.
You're not a true programmer unless you can write out perfectly functional binary code.
But wait, you're not a true binary programmer unless you understand the details of every electrical signal that makes up your code. In fact, you shouldn't even be doing it with a keyboard. A true programmer should magnetize a hard disk by hand.

You could go on forever with that no true scottsman shit.

Python seems to have trouble calculating (4/3)/1.5 using its Decimal type. Making the the Decimal type inaccurate. The only reason to use it is for accuracy. This ended up breaking one of my programs, so I had to migrate to another language.

Python is easy to learn
C is the most powerfull but a pain to work with
Java is inbetween both of those
php is just for the web

I take a class on that question. we basically learn how to use a bunch of languages together to get the best of everything.

You fucking faggots, why on earth are you arguing about different languages, a good programmer will probably take like 2-3 days to learn any language, and like a couple of months to master it. I've done Java, C#, python, Obective-C, C/C++, Go, node, even fucking delphi, and tons of different frameworks for most of them. They're just tools that help you get your shit done. I find having a good IDE is much better than using a language you like. Well, if I had to choose, I'd probably say Objective-C is the one I like most, simply because it lets you enjoy the benefits of OOP and awesome generic frameworks ( the ones provides by Apple ) and it lets you also do pretty much C-style low-level shit if you want. Also, fuck them for forcing Swift down our throats, it 's annoying !

Guys, how do I break the ice with programming? I feel like there's a steep learning curve. The most complex thing I've done is scripting in Game Maker, which I got decently familiar with. Beyond that, I've tried making simple text adventure esque things with C# in Xamarin in order to learn the ropes, and I didn't get far at all. Everything feels so constricted, and I don't really know what I'm doing.

Not sure 'bout that.

It really depends under which permission it was installed, also SELinux could block such malicious activity if properly configured.

So I'm just teaching myself how to code, went to codeacademy to learn python. Once I finish that course and learn the basics there, where's a good place to go to learn more? I was wondering who else experienced the same things. I ran experiments with mine and my wife's PCs, and my lappy, Living room computer.. and no updates ended up being MUCH less trouble, by far. >Out of curiosity, is there anywhere you can still get XP?

You don't want that one. Not with your modern system that supports 64 bit. The drivers in 64 bit Windows XP were absolute shit, if present at all.

You will not regret making this purchase, and putting it on an SSD. Or steal it and try it. But, get Win7 64 bit. It's good shit and trouble free.
>>

you can't have 2 frame works. just like how you can't extend two classes. you have to pick one. python went with .NET and Django went with another mac specific one. Django and python are not the same

PYTHON HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH .NET FRAMEWORK....unless you specifically need it for something, in which case there are python implementations of .Net
