yeah. Oh well. Ever since I stopped going I've become a hermit, also a prisoner in my house but, meh.
And I was majoring in computer science and minoring in linguistics. I'd dual major if FSU had linguistics as a major. But I had to drop out so it doesn't matter.
I'm twenty now. At this rate, if I ever get back into college, I'll be old and dullwitted, and not make any friends either.
My parents have always been the number one reason why I often don't have friends, and they've done it again by forcing me out of college. I had so much fun with people there.

If we go back to the tribal hunter gatherer times. They were autocratic or Oligarchal. Ruled by the strongest. No equality there. People have always been individualistic, but it's hard to rip people off if they have no personal possessions. Only the chiefs and the biggest and strongest would have those. And the biggest flaw in your argument I keep addressing. You think that people are working to make their society a better place first. They aren't people make their own lives better first, society comes second.
You're still ignoring the main point of my arugment. Where is your alternative? Where is your better alternative to capitalism. All you're doing is whinging about it without having something to contribute that is viable and would work.
As for Bernie. I already told you. The elites want to keep their power. They will do things to prevent themselves from losing it. That doesn't mean you, yourself can come up with a solution to replace capitalism because you think it's such a failure.

Science fiction? Neat, I used to read a lot. Most recently, I read Childhood's End, which was fun.
Coincidentally, it also describes what would happen if aliens forced humans to be communist.

And no, my mother got paid to go to college, just like anyone else did, as long as she kept her grades up.

>You're still ignoring the main point of my arugment. Where is your alternative? Where is your better alternative to capitalism. All you're doing is whinging about it without having something to contribute that is viable and would work.
You're kind of ignoring my argument too.
>As for Bernie. I already told you. The elites want to keep their power. They will do things to prevent themselves from losing it. That doesn't mean you, yourself can come up with a solution to replace capitalism because you think it's such a failure.
Bernie came up with a few solutions and tried to implement them. A lot of people thought they were good ideas. He was shut down by a system that over the past few decade has created more inequality and poverty for the majority, and massive amounts of cash for the elite and a political system that can be bought with it. The system actively prevents solutions or alternative from being discussed or implemented, and people don't blame the system for it. That's my problem here.
"It's the best we got" is a self fulfilling prophecy and a pattern that needs to be broken out of. I'm not even a communist, i don't have all the answers, hell, anyone who says they do are lying. The world is way too complex to forsee accurately, but the last few decade have shown just how self destructive and flawed the current system can become.

>>722162675
So during the time when the Soviet Union was in decline then. Not surprising.
If you are part of an authoritarian one that sees any kind of mocking as dissidence that needs to be stamped out. Then no, they wouldn't.
I'm really not dude. You're arguing that capitalism is shit, but you're not giving anything to compare it with, whereas I have been comparing it to the shittier forms of society that have failed in the past.
And that system that failed Bernie was controlled by the political elites because his ideas threatened the power of the elites. Not because it threatened capitalism as an ideology. It threatened those who reap the highest benefits from captialism. And those sorts will always exist, there's no two ways about it. Bernie's ideas are implemented in Australia and New Zealand for the most part. And there aren't any politicians that can influcence the system to the same extent that happened to Bernie.
Yes it's self destructive and yes it's flawed but we don't have a better option at our current time. And no it's not a self fulfilling prophecy. That's a crock of shit. It's an opinion and from some perspectives a fact. There's always room for improvement and we should always strive for it. Calling that a pattern that needs to be broken out of sounds like you don't want to live in the best society. You'd intentionally want to worsen yourself by not going for the path of improvement.

>And that system that failed Bernie was controlled by the political elites because his ideas threatened the power of the elites. Not because it threatened capitalism as an ideology. It threatened those who reap the highest benefits from captialism
And you don't think that might be problematic? A system that not only favors the elite few but can actually be controlled by them? And that's supposed to be the best we can come up with?
I don't think so. But when you try to change the system, you get crushed by the elites.
>Yes it's self destructive and yes it's flawed but we don't have a better option at our current time
And change or even the notion of it gets completely supressed by the system, while it continues to play out its self-destructive nature. Don't you see why "It's the best we've got" is so deceitful?
>There's always room for improvement and we should always strive for it.
And things are only improving for the select few. It's been like this for decades now. If there's no change it will keep going like this. "It's the best we got, so let's keep going until it blows up in our faces!"
People need to realize that they're not poor because they're not working hard enough or not educated enough (aka didn't have enough money to get a job), they're poor because the people on top are squeezing harder and harder, because that's the core principle of capitalism.

I pulled the same goldbrick as you are right now when I went in.
I myself know for sure if there was a draft, I'd avoid it by simply hiding in the closet or in the woods, but if I somehow got caught, I'd be a stellar soldier until they trusted me, after which myself and as many officers above me as possible would be dead. At least myself, if not any officers.
>>722165893
But look where you are now?
I have been in actual fights where they have to pull me off so I don't kill the other person. Like, I'm good in a fight, but not for the right reasons.
>>722166000
Not all military is combatants.
>>722165090
Again. All alternatives can be controlled just as easily if not more so. Yes it's the best we can come up with. How would you fix it?
Bullshit. You look at states like New Zealand which have had massive changes to how capitalism operates in them have happened with resistance but have still managed to succeed. Nukes not being allowed in NZ. NZ being one of the first 1st world countries to openly trade with the Soviet Union. Having making their international waters cut back to only 20 miles from the shoreline and then made back to 200 miles within only a few years. Change can happen to the system if it's seen as something for the better of the society.
Things aren't just improving for the select few. Labour unions have never had such power before, healthcare (with the exception of the USA) is socialised by the government in Western nations. Access to information for the common people has never been easier.

I know. Trying to keep tings light so I don;t get too depressed.
>>722166221
I don't want to get on your case too, so rather than argue I'll just throw a quote at you.
"War is not violence and killing, pure and simple; war is controlled violence, for a purpose. The purpose of war is to support your government's decisions by force. The purpose is never to kill the enemy just to be killing him...but to make him do what you want to do. Not killing...but controlled and purposeful violence."
-Robert A. Heinlein
>>722166221
Unless your country currently holds nuclear weapons you don't have to worry about being involved in violence.
I will never recommend anyone to join the military - I'm only saying that it's possible to literally just survive it by goldbricking.
>>722166452
I know. There is always an alternative to violence, not matter the case.
>>722166452
technically the goal and purpose of a military is to kill (or threaten to kill) civilians
>>722166537

>>722166577

>>722166615
Fuck no. That's just ignorant and retarded. A military serves to carry out the decisions of it's government.
>>722166781
okay, so what happens when the military of country A has completely wiped out the military of country B?
>>722166781
Unfortunately violence bends willpower like nothing else. War isn't about deciding who's right, only who's left.
>>722166781
and what happens if a citizen disobeys the government in his own country? he gets killed by the police or military
>>722166831
That's not for the military to decide. If the government of country A says kill everyone and salt the earth. The military will do that. Should it decide to use the troops to act as a peacekeeping occupying force they'll do that.
>>722166911
I do like that quote but it's really only applicable to a total war hellbent on destruction of the other side yes. Or from the perspective of the average ground solider sure. But not all wars are like that. Wars are fought to make the enemy do what you want as quoted earlier. If you want them to stop existing entirely, that's the purpose of the war. Should it be to just maintain control of a region or resource then why kill everyone?
>>722167188
to assert dominance and ensure control. The same reason bullies bully.
>>722167188
>peacekeeping occupying force
i.e. if the citizens don't agree with the occupying force, they get killed
>>722167188
>Should it be to just maintain control of a region or resource then why kill everyone?
what if every native civilian doesn't choose to give up that region or resource? they get killed
>>722167151
You don't punish a baby by cutting it's head off with an axe. If you disobey the government by breaking laws you get punished. If you break the laws of the military, you get punished accordingly.
>>722167263
Again, only partially true. It all depends on the bully. Some do it because they're sociopaths who love being dicks.
>>722167326
If they violently revolt against the peacekeeping force then yes. It's the peacekeeper's job to keep the peace and letting revolts and riots go unchecked would be a violation of their job.
>>722167381
Or they could get forcably moved from that region or made to work for the occupying force for that resource. Killing for the sake of killing isn't the answer dude, there are alternatives.
>>722167581
That's also true. I just think that violence is brutish and has no real place in an intellectual and advanced society. Then again there are still large cults of people who agree some magic man created everything and cares very much about where your penis goes.
>>722167581
exactly, and the government tells you "we're the only entity allowed to kill people. we're allowed to kill you but you're forbidden by law from killing us. but killing you is legal because i am the law."

>>722168025

>>722168081
There is so much red tape involved in acquiring live rounds it's more likely that an entire war would be over by the time we even get a chance to shoot.
any pictures similar to this?
>>722167764
Again I have to disagree. It may be brutish and has no place in an intellectual society. But it's a necessary evil to have the capability of using it.
>>722167824
That's a really immature way of looking at it.
You're attitude suggests that we should be allowed to kill people because we're all free individuals and any organisation that says that this is wrong is evil because should I kill people they'll kill me. Or am I wrong?
>>722167906
Again, you're a moron. Military's aren't just for mindlessly killing civilians for shits and gigs. The government of that military had made a decision, it was the role of the military to make that decision happen. It's evil, but the military as a whole is a tool of it's government. Albiet a tool made up of individuals.
>>722167924
If anything that proves my point about unions, they don't need nearly as many people in them to make the impact that they do. Maybe I'm wrong for the US because it's a backwards shithole with it's labour laws compared to some other western countries but Unions in NZ, the UK, Australia, etc are far more powerful and have bought in effective labour laws.
Again more than likely that's exclusive for the states. NZ's minimum wage is goes about 50c twice a year, sometimes only once a year.
>>722168387
you're wrong, i don't want to kill people, i want to kill politicians

>>722168489
Because it's the most effective way of keeping peace. You have to understand that people are animals. They're not all enlightened intellectuals. Most people are dumb brutes and violence is the most effective way of getting people to do what they're told.
>>722168512

Woops, back from being in gfur thread, but that's wrong. Humans can do so much because they are animals, yet they also rise above them. You should never remove humanity from humans.
>>722168785
and that's what's holding us back from our full potential.
>>722168728
But then we'd lose what makes us human being nothing but intellectuals we'd lose out on our morals and our survivial instincts. Another quote for you.
"The pursuit of science, despite its social benefits, is itself not a social virtue; its practitioners can be men so self-centered as to be lacking in social responsibility."
>>722168743
>Wants freedom to kill politicians because they're big smelly meanines.
>Calls critic of this idea a jew

>>722168835
No, it's not. Nothing about being a human prevents people from greatness. You just have to have people raise their standards, which can most easily be done by giving them more time to think, by making them spend less time doing their job.
Idle hands are the work of the devil, said people in the past: the ``devil'' is thinking for yourself.
>>722168853
Morality is subjective and useless when in the face of perfect order. Self preservation is a matter of logic, not emotion.
>>722168938
I disagree wholeheartedly. Morality may be subjective. But what are we without an idea of we consider it? Animals? Machines? Morality something that is necessary for a functioning society because it gives us guidelines on what we consider right and wrong for the betterment of our society. To remove it would remove our goals of bettering ourselves.
>>722168835
Also this belief that we need to remove our animal nature. Another quote for you.
"Man is what he is, a wild animal with the will to survive, and (so far) the ability, against all competition. Unless one accepts that, anything one says about morals, war, politics—you name it—is nonsense."
>>722168938
Why live, if not to have fun and enjoy things?
>>722169166
Machinery would represent an Ideal and functioning society. I realize we are driven to survive, but our morals are holding us back. We are cheating the gene pool only by our acquired superiority, but that will change.

To reproduce and die.
>>722169351
That's a boring life not worth living.
>>722169549
Exactly my point.
>>722169351
I can't agree with that at all. It maybecome a functioning society but one without soul. It wouldn't be a human society and would not be the future I'd want for us. To me, Humanity's potential lies in using our heritage to take to the stars and do what we've done to this planet, become conquerors, dominating everything in our path using our greatest assets. Our innate ability as a species to overcome any obstacle given enough time and effort and our capacity for violence to control.
>>722169351
>Morals are holding us back
In certain fields certainly, but morality as a whole are keeping society together. Morality is (generally) the basis for laws. Without laws we would be living in an autist rage fueled apocalyptic anarchy state.
>>722169619
Then why call it ideal?
>>722169619
I just want to have fun in life, that's my goal.
Sadly I haven't gotten close to my goal. I might never reach a point where I can just choose to have fun.
Then again, my idea of "morals holding us back" tends to shift into make "PMC's and Head hunters legit jobs" territory; So I may not be the best person to ask about how morals are holding us back.
>>722169865
Morality is subjective. But as long as we have a concept of it, we're on the right path.

Humans naturally find order. Society doesn't keep us from becoming murderers, we do. The weak should fear the strong, that is the basic order of the universe. What cannot succeed dies off, those who adapt can conquer. Those who conquer domesticate. Those who domesticate become weak. The strong shall consume the meek to ensure the wheel spins.

>>722170135
Conscription is caused by statism, since the state does it to you. I agree that conscription (and militaries themselves) is barbaric.
>>722170152
I agree. I absolutely agree with everything you said there.
But I don't have any foolproof way to kill myself right now, so I can't remove myself from the problem unless I want to risk a failed suicide, which would have me end up in a worse hell than I'm already in.
>>722170092
>Capitalism
>>722170208
>I don't have any foolproof way to kill myself right now
"The human body has thousands of weak points. Death is only a pinch away at any moment"
>>722170208
welcome to my life. now with apathy!
Death is the permanent solution to the temporary condition of living.
I'm going to go take a shower and give some other random places morally bankrupt advice. Gonna still lurk here though.
>>722170039
So you're a self hating emo as well. I know I'm falling to basic insults but you're really not giving me many options here dude. We will kill and destroy because we are the dominant race and will do anything to prove it. You say we will leech off the universe like we're not native to the universe, a foreign entity to the universe that shouldn't have occurred which is bullshit. We are part of this universe and we will to what is needed to ensure our survival and dominance. Only time will tell if we have the right to do so.
>>722170169
It's not conscription though. It's National Service. While you can argue they're the same. They aren't.
>>722170277
>A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.
intelligent design confirmed
>>722170220
Nice meme, dude. You totally made a convincing, relevant point.
>>722170277
mm
>>722170288
I don't feel apathy about these things. I feel quite strongly that everyone should have a good life.
>>722170449
I hate what humans are, and what we're becoming. We will end this planet, really we already have, I just hope it takes humans with it before we can spread.
>>722170456
I can agree with that. I just don't particularly care for my own.
>>722170449
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_service
Check out the first thing in parentheses there. By the way, nothing compulsory is ethical.
>>722170456
>mousguy has actual arguements with people
>mousguy isn't always a click away from shiposting
I'm literally always shitposting. If not here, then on another board, soaking in the butthurt and (you)s.
>>722170597
Once you grow up out of your edgy teen years you'll get out of that mindset.
>>722170616
So Education isn't ethical. Teaching people road safety when learning to drive isn't ethical, Obeying laws isn't ethical?
>>722170623
I see. I've gotten too used to the types of discussion on /jp/, some /g/ threads, and other places, which are relatively free from shitposting.
>>722170843
When those things are compulsory.
>>722170843
I have felt this way for a solid twelve years though. I doubt this ideology will change much. But I could certainly be wrong.
>>722170882
So what makes them unethical? What's unethical of making sure everybody driving knows the same rules when on the road. What's unethical of making sure that everyone can read, write and comprehend mathematics so they can be functional members of society?
>>722171009
It's an edgy emo years thing. I've been there. Now I embrace the hedonistic ideologies I once hated humanity for and want us to use them to our advantage.
>>722171009
yeah
"edgy" and "teen" are ad hominems anyway, they don't have any productive value in a discussion
>>722171093
The unethical part is making them compulsory. People who want to drive a car should be given access to all the information they want, but shouldn't be forced through any specific program.
Anyone here mind sucking my hard cock?
>>722171093
I have great faith in humanity. I really do. But we have become so unwilling to change and adapt that it will be the end of us. It is quickly becoming to late to turn back. I have lost faith in man's abilities and right to rule as we continue on a path of relentless destruction.
>>722171116
I won't argue with the teen bit, but I see this more as a culmination of objectivity about human history and tendencies.
>>722171315
sure, send your cock over
>>722171173
But allowing them to be ignorant of the rules is extremely hazardous. Someone could learn every rule in the book except one and not knowing that one rule costs them their life. That's why we have compulsory programs to make sure that they know all the rules at least once in their life, when they take the tests and hopefully remember them. At least they aren't ignorant of something important because they only read the information they wanted.
>>722171322
You're only looking at us in the short term. You should study our early history a bit more and you'll see that we're a very adaptive bunch when we want to be. But for the last few thousand years we've gone from adapting ourselves to fit our environment, we're adapting our environment to fit us.
>>722171361
Good cause I need to realise a big load of cum into someone's belly
>>722171433
our time that we should have wanted to change was squandered. Our ability to see the long-term reality and pretend it doesn't exist is baffling.
>>722171447
nice feet
>>722171433
But the thing is, in this future, do rules exist? Rules exist only if statism exists.
The idea is that only people who wanted to drive would drive, and therefore they'd be more motivated to drive well.
>>722171521
Not at all. We've still got heaps of time to change. Climate change is happening and we're not going to stop it. But we'll work around it and make the best of it.
>>722171598
And that's bullshit. Rules can exist without statism. And driving well is subjective, if there are no rules to follow. When there are distinct rules that tell you how to drive well it becomes objective and achievable by everyone. You make this sound like a bad thing.
>>722171768
>Rules can exist without statism
If you mean rules that aren't laws, then sure.
>implying you can make subjective things objective
You can't.
>>722171768
>let the earth die and help the rich leave. Great plan I love it. Maybe we can learn to like acid rain and start breathing smog. We are fucked. We fucked ourselves. There is no positive spin. We have signed our own death warrant
>>72217084
That isn't all that bad of an edit. Color me surprised.
>>722171768
Fixes are possible, but would require very large scale climate controlling devices. Such as giant faciilities that "scrub" CO2 into O2. It's possible, just not profitable. Though even that could be done away with. Find a way to use the carbon. Maybe carbonizing steel for specialized blends, or making artificial diamonds.
>>722170849
I've stopped trying to have real discussions 90% of the time. Things get shitposty fast thanks to all the fucking normies all over the place.

>>722171837
Rules exist as 4 things.
1. Policies or laws
2. Authoritative statements
3. Unpublished rules that are conveyed by behavior and are implicitly understood
4.Standards.
>>722171870
You think too highly of us that we can "kill" the earth in our current state as a species. The rich can only so so much without the masses supporting them, and once we understand what that really entails as a whole we can better ourselves.
>>722172089
Well the technology does exist, but we just don't have the manpower with the know-how to implement it effectively as well as it not being profitable too.
I'm getting sick of all pseudo-intellectual crap. But I can't stop feeding it. I need to get more shitposty
>>722172089
I actually had a science fiction idea about a Venus with mysterious artificial diamonds made from CO2 scrubbing in the far past.
>>722172207
You have bad taste.
>>722172260
at least I'm not black.
>>722172239
until then let's delude ourselves.
>>722172324
Too easy. It's more fun to mock the deluded.
>>722171447
cool edit
>>722172370
that's tiresome too. I want a solution, not a life.
>>722172614
Well we're too far gone for the final solution. So just make something up and work with it.
>>722172239
>Well the technology does exist, but we just don't have the manpower with the know-how to implement it effectively as well as it not being profitable too.
Science in a nutshell. We have created teh fucking LHC, but figuring out hwo to do small chemical reactions a lot and make it afforable is fucking mind boggling.
>>722172260
Sounds fun. My idea was using the carbon as the starting steps of lab "grown" steel made with micropatterns to be insanely strong, and a society long since dead being around thanks to their metal outliving them.

>100 yen

>>722172681
Fucking A, I mean I figured out a way of converting a combustion engine to use hydrogen. But at best you could power a house for a short while, like a diesel one. You use a solar panel for the energy to cause electrolysis in water, separating hydrogen and oxygen, pump it to a modified rotary engine and bing bang boom. You have a combustion engine running on water.
>>722172690
You first. Then the big boys can work out something in peace and quiet.
>>722172762
>I stopped because I had less time and I'm nogunz
Go back my friend. Become a hazfuns one day.
>>722172735
Could have been worse. When I'm bored I combine multi version images into one image. Mostly because tardists never make alternative appearance images and cum images of the same porn image into one image.
>>722172872
that is the solution. Kill off humanity while the planet still has a chance to heal.
>>722172926
It's not a solution. It's your edgy emo wet dream.
>>722172872
Yeah, hydrogen powered cars already exist, except no one wants them when they can just have battery/electric
>>722172990
I'd like to see humanity thrive on the earth without killing it or each other. We will not get to that point in time.
>>722172880
I want to have shotfunz and nuggets and AKs and ARs, but that costs money. You also need a range you can shoot at. I don't have a car.
>>722173044
Plus hydrogen cells are expensive as fuck. My idea just uses distilled water, which is still pretty pricey, but not nearly as much. Probably on par with diesel right now.
>>722173065
Again, we aren't killing it, you give us too much credit, we're just killing fuckton, not a majority, but a fuckton of creatures that live on it. And as long as it's profitable to spark conflict then we'll keep killing one another.
>>722173250
but what you described is a hydrogen cell

On a much larger scale. This is like the size of a fish tank. The car one are much smaller and compact.
>>722173387
Hydrogen cars don't have fuel cells though. They have hydrogen fuel tanks filled with hydrogen from external fuel cell plants
>>722173250
we have directly led to the current level of climate change and atmospheric degeneration. We did do this.
>>722173088
IAC HAWK is every bit as good as an 870, and generally runs 190-260$
https://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/iac-hawk-pump-action-shotgun-12-gauge-3-185-barrel-5-rounds-synthetic-stock-black-finish-981r-845503000276.do?sortby=priceAscend&page=2&refType=&from=fn
AR's can be built for 80$. 80. Fucking. Dollars. Though the post on /k/ said to only do something that ludicrously cheap for a "stopgap" gun until you can get or make a better AR. AKs are expensive in the US, but making one with a gunsmith's help and kits would lead to a rifle every bit as solid as it's more expensive premade counterparts.
They have poorfag thread all the time man. That and sell thread where anons post guns with god damned great prices.
>no car
Work on that my friend. Don't buy new, buy used. And remember to buy local from a paper ad if possible! Local people, regardless of who they are, generally let other locals get better prices.
>my car only cost me 500$ and a beat up .303 enfield rifle
>>722173452
That's what I'm loosely referring to as a fuel cell.
>>722173458
we have directly catalyzed the current level of climate change and atmospheric degeneration with or without us we would have eventually reached this point. And as for atmospheric degeneration, the Ozone hole that has been such a large problem for Antarctica since the 90s has almost completely regenerated in the last 5 years. You overestimate us too much.
>>722173250
>>722173458
The way I look at it is that we've been producing a lot of carbon, alongside killing a lot of things that consume carbon. Are current estiates on when we're doomed probably a bit over the top? yes. Is the general idea that we need to reverse our retardation unfounded? no.
also new fucking bread when.

I see. I really miss the times I went trap shooting!
This is getting dreamy and wishywashy now, but I also want bayonets~
And true, I do know that assembling can be cheaper. 80 USD is cheaper than I thought, though.
I don't want a car. I hate being in cars.
>>722173618
Well we look back in our geological history. One of the first major extinctions was because of a shit ton of volcanoes going off at once and from all the estimates there was at least still 5x more carbon than what we've produced going through the atmosphere. So I'm fairly sure we're good, this was the one before the meteor one.
>>722173716
If I'm drunk next time, or at least drinking expect me to be more of a jackass.

Absolutely
>>722173726
Bayonets are decently priced. and 80$ is for a "lol its technically an AR" builds.
>>722173816
My main concerns aren't really the carbon output right now, but actual deforestation and deserts expanding alongside inland water sources shrinking in certain areas. Which is a lot more of humans being dumb.
>>722173983
Fully with you on that. Free range farming is the worst thing for the world right now.
